Krissy is our newest Security Forces (military police) member in the New Mexico Air National Guard, and I am thrilled to have her join the squad! Airman First Class Spain is a Veterinary Technician full-time, but has always wanted to serve in the military. Krissy will be going to basic military training and technical training soon, but in the meantime, she will begin to earn her time in service while attending Student Flight on drill weekends! Student Flight is a unique program which allows newly enlisted members to start getting paid…all while learning about military customs and courtesies, rank structure, fundamentals of Boot Camp, etc. I am so confident that this new Airman will do GREAT things in the New Mexico Air National Guard. Airman Garcia loves to work on vehicles and aircraft, so naturally, he gravitated towards a job in “Mission Generation Vehicular Equipment Maintenance“ and will be assigned to our Logistics Readiness Squadron.
Airman Garcia is excited to “get his hands dirty and work” which is just one of the many admirable traits this young man has.
He is going to do many great things in life, and we are excited to have a front row seat to see the endless opportunities this enlistment will bring to him.

Please allow us to introduce one of our newest recruits to the #NMANG, Airman First Class Garcia! It was too difficult to choose just one photo of him because as you can see, he had several family members present, showing their full support for his decision to enlist. His grandfather served 20 years in the #AirForce, and it was clear to see how proud he was to witness his grandson's Oath of Enlistment. On this day, tears were shed, smiles were exhibited, but most importantly, A1C Garcia's dreams came true! Welcome to the family, A1C Garcia and family! We look forward to serving with you!

When a family member of an airman (or two in this case) decides to join us in the ranks of the #NMANG, it is a big deal! The NMANG truly is one big family where other family members fit right in. Airman Padilla is a high school senior (did you know you can enlist as a senior?!) and will be joining us once he graduates.
His brother and sister are also in the unit, and the awesome parents of these THREE AIRMEN told us yesterday that they trusted their son's decision to enlist based on the experience their two older children have had in the NMANG. There is no better compliment than that, especially hearing it directly from the parents following an already exciting enlistment ceremony.
The halls were packed for this enlistment, reminding us of the camaraderie that exists within our group as a whole. We are so happy to have you join us, Airman Padilla! Again, welcome to the family! 👏
You know what they say... There is no "I" in "New Mexico Air National Guard" or something like that…😂 Just kidding- but in all seriousness, the three enlistments we had this week were a direct reflection of the team structure we strive to live by.
There is no “I” in "team", especially at the #150SOW!
First up, we have Joseph! He has not served in the military before but wanted to follow in his father’s footsteps by enlisting in the #NMANG! His new unit literally welcomed him with open arms as seen in this video, showing Joseph and his father overwhelming support. We really are a family here!
Next up, we have Malachi! He is an Intermediate Emergency Medical Technician in his civilian career field, and will bring extremely valuable experience with him into the 150th Medical Group where he will work as a Medic! He brought his family along with him and they showed outstanding support for his decision to enlist.
Last but not least, Marchelle enlisted with us via Facetime! She is an active duty airman who just finished up her tour. She will be coming back to serve in the place that she calls "home", #NewMexico! This is what we refer to as a "Palace Front" enlistment.
We have said it once and we will say it again, thank you to those that have enlisted, and thank you to the families that have supported the decisions their family members have made to enlist.
