New Mexico Rural Veterans Coordination Program - RVCP Rural Veterans Coordination Pilot (Program) The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) created the Rural Veterans Coordination Pilot (RVCP) grant program


The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) created the Rural Veterans Coordination Pilot (RVCP) grant program to support Veterans and their families who re-side in rural and/or underserved areas of the country. Grantees are expected to use the funds to aid Veterans with the transition to civilian life in one or more of the following areas:

• Increasing coordination of health care and benefits for Veterans
• Increasing availability of high quality medical and mental health services
• Providing assistance to families of transitioning Veterans
• Women Veterans issues and concerns
• Transportation

• Veterans' Property Tax Exemption Disabled Veteran Property Tax Exemption
• Exemption from Excise Taxes on Vehicle Purchases / Veterans' Educational Benefits
• Veterans’ Service Organization Property Tax Exemption
• Wartime Veteran Scholarship Fund / Wartime Veteran Scholarship Fund
• Veterans’ License Plates / Gold Star Family License Plate / Patriot License Plate

New Mexico is one of five Rural states that received the RVCP Grant and is aggressively working to coordinate services for Veterans and their families with the following concerns. Woman Veterans Issues/Concerns, Transportation, Benefits/Pension, Medical, Homelessness, Education/Rehabilitation/Employment, and Crisis Intervention.
