The APD Museum currently contains photos, badges, weapons, motorcycles, uniforms, equipment and numerous other artifacts that have been used by APD officers since 1881.

Mission: The mission of the Albuquerque Police Department Museum is to collect, preserve and present the history of our department from its origin in 1881 to the present day.

Patrolman Donald W. Redfern

Patrolman Redfern was struck by a drunk driver and killed while directing traffic at the scene of a flash flood. The vehicle was traveling approximately 50 mph when the driver lost control and slid into Patrolman Redfern and two other cars. The driver was arrested and charged with manslaughter.
