Pearl River Exotics Hi, I’m Ashley—owner of Pearl River Exotics.

From my high-desert greenhouse in New Mexico, I grow Nepenthes and other carnivorous plants with a focus on quality, sustainability, and conservation.

ONE WEEK! We're bringing the weird plants to Cedar Crest next Sunday!

Pearl River Exotics will be at the Cedar Crest Sunday Market on August 30 from 12–4 PM, with a big selection of carnivorous plants.

We'll have Venus flytraps, pitcher plants, sundews, butterworts, handmade mixed carnivorous plant pots, and some larger specimen plants coming along too.

Never grown a carnivorous plant before? Come talk to me! I'll help you find something that works for your space and show you how to keep it happy.

The market itself is going to be huge — 50+ artisan & produce vendors, food trucks, live music, belly dancing, sword dancing, a petting zoo and more.

We’re bringing the weird plants to Cedar Crest!

Pearl River Exotics will be at the Cedar Crest Sunday Market on August 30 from 12–4 PM, in the parking lot next to Triangle Grocery.

This month's market is a big one — 50+ artisan & produce vendors, food trucks, live music, a petting zoo, face painting, belly dancing, sword dancing, pet adoptions and plenty more happening throughout the afternoon.

We'll be bringing a big selection of carnivorous plants, including Venus flytraps, pitcher plants, sundews and butterworts — plus some of our larger specimen plants and handmade mixed carnivorous plant pots that don't normally make it to our smaller pop-ups.

Whether you're already a carnivorous plant person or you've just always wanted to see these strange little weirdos in person, come say hi.

Erin and I had such a great time this weekend hanging out at Jeremiah's for his Greenhouse Open Day. It was so much fun getting to see the collection and even more fun talking to everyone in our community. I saw some old faces and met so many new people.

I can't wait to see you all again soon!

So grateful for the rain! 🌧️ We collect as much rainwater as we can during the summer monsoons because it's one of the best water sources for our plants. Every good storm is a reason to celebrate around here!

I love getting your photos! You should definitely send them to the ICPS too. 🤩

Got a great carnivorous plant photo to share? 🌱📸

We’d love to feature your plants! Send us a message with:
• 1 (one) photo
• A short 2–4 sentence description
• Your name and location
• 5 hashtags

We may share it on our page for the community to enjoy!

Photos can be of anything carnivorous plant–related—your collection, wild plants in habitat, plants catching a meal, pitchers showing off their best colors, sundews sparkling in the sun, Venus flytraps mid-chomp, plants “sunbathing,” posing, or just looking suspiciously dramatic. The funnier and more unique, the better!

Let’s celebrate the amazing diversity (and personality) of carnivorous plants together 🌿

Home again. ❤️

We made it back home after a wonderful family trip to Michigan (and a really fun pop-up while we were there!), and I have to admit... it feels good to be back in the greenhouse.

I also want to give a huge thank you to Erin and Charity for taking such great care of everything while we were gone. Erin had her hands full between limited water and our RO system deciding it was the perfect time to throw a fit. 😅 Somehow she kept everything looking fantastic, and I couldn't be more grateful.

Now it's time to get caught up.

The greenhouse is definitely reminding me that I took a vacation. 😂 There are weeds to pull, plants to water, inventory to update, and about a hundred little projects waiting for me. But honestly... I kind of love getting back into the rhythm of it all.

Thank you to everyone who was patient while shipping was paused, and thank you to everyone who came out to see us at the Michigan pop-up. It was so much fun meeting so many of you!

Over the next couple of weeks I'll be sharing plenty of greenhouse updates, new plants, and whatever else happens around here. (Because let's be honest... there's usually something happening. 😄)

Fourth of July Greenhouse Picks are here! 🌿

While we're spending a few days visiting family in Michigan, we still wanted to do something fun for everyone back home.

We've hand-picked a small collection of some of our favorite carnivorous plants (plus a couple companion plants) that we know are ready to head to new homes.

🌱 Enjoy 15% off our Fourth of July Collection through Sunday!

You'll find:
• Nepenthes
• Pinguicula
• Utricularia
• Drosera
• Venus Flytraps
• A couple unique companion plants

Since this is a curated collection, quantities are limited, and once a plant sells out, it won't be replaced during the sale.

Thank you, as always, for supporting our little greenhouse. We hope you have a safe and happy Fourth of July!

🌱 A Quick Summer Update from Pearl River Exotics

This summer, our family will be taking a much-needed road trip to Michigan to spend time with family and make a few memories together.

Because of that, orders placed on or after June 17 will be held and shipped beginning July 13. The website will remain open during this time, so you're still welcome to shop and reserve plants for July shipping.

While shipping will be paused, things won't be slowing down entirely here at PRE. Erin will be keeping the greenhouse running and tackling some of the projects that always seem to get pushed aside during the busy season. We'll be sharing updates, greenhouse improvements, behind-the-scenes projects, and plenty of plant content along the way.

Thank you all for your continued support. One of the things I love most about this business is that it allows me to share my passion for carnivorous plants while also creating opportunities for family adventures like this one. We appreciate your patience during our shipping pause and look forward to getting plants headed your way again in July.
