This Primary Election day is on 6/02. Have you voted early yet?

In 2024, only 17% of New Mexico voters participated in our primary elections.

But primary elections decide a majority of all elected seats. That meant a small fraction of voters was choosing leaders for entire communities.

That soon changed.

In 2025, New Mexico passed SB 16, opening primaries to the state’s 330,000+ independent voters for the first time. That's nearly 1 in 4 registered voters who were previously locked out of critical elections.

More voters. More voices. Candidates who must earn broader support.

Democracy works better when more people are in it.

New Mexico's kids deserve better odds. The state ranks at the bottom in education.

The solution isn't complicated: well-funded schools, teachers who are paid what they're worth, and leaders who treat education as infrastructure, not ideology.

That's not radical. That's just how it works.

Today we remember the men and women who gave everything in service to this country.

Many of them came from places like New Mexico: small towns, farming families, communities where service is a value passed down through generations.

We honor and salute them today and every day.

There’s no denying it: the cost of living is rising. Housing. Child care. Groceries. Transportation. The math stopped working for a lot of families.

Building a real middle class in New Mexico means:

→ Wages that keep pace with costs
→ Small businesses that can hire and grow
→ Career paths that don’t require leaving the state
→ Leaders focused on results, not talking points

That means lowering everyday costs and raising incomes at the same time.

We have one of the most resilient, resourceful, and hardworking populations in the country. What we need is a system that actually works for working people.

That's the chapter we're trying to write.

A moment of silence for the penny, since production stopped last November.

But here’s a factoid for your next trivia night: A penny today has less than 2/3 the purchasing power of a penny 20 years ago.

The coin didn't change. The cost of living did.

The gallon of milk, the box of diapers, the electricity bill that somehow keeps going up. Working families in New Mexico are earning pennies on the dollar compared to what those wages actually covered a generation ago.

We don't need a penny. We need wages and policies that keep up. And we’re working for exactly that.

For many in our state, the nearest hospital is more than an hour away.

Rural communities don't just need healthcare, they need healthcare infrastructure: clinics, telehealth access, providers who want to stay, and systems that make it possible for them to do so.

Practical leadership means treating rural healthcare as a priority, not an afterthought.
New Mexico's working families, wherever they live, deserve better.

New Mexico is home to incredible women-owned businesses. Yet women entrepreneurs still receive only a fraction of small business lending.

The women building businesses here create jobs, strengthen neighborhoods, and keep local economies moving.

Supporting women entrepreneurs isn’t a niche cause.

It’s how you build a stronger economy for everyone.
