TODAY: Udall, Haaland, New Mexicans to Reflect on the Life and Legacy of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg
Participants will honor Justice Ginsburg’s trailblazing legacy advancing women’s rights and fairness for all New Mexicans, the same week the Senate is holding a rushed confirmation hearing to replace her.
Today, Tuesday, October 13, 2020 at 12:00 p.m. MT, U.S. Senator Tom Udall and U.S. Representative Deb Haaland, along with members of the New Mexico legal community and champions for women’s empowerment, will host an event to honor the life and legacy of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. The participants will host a discussion to pay tribute to Justice Ginsburg’s trailblazing legacy of advancing women’s rights and fighting for fairness for all.
Udall and Haaland will be joined by Pamelya Herndon, a New Mexico attorney with a long career focused on women’s legal and social justice issues, Roberta Cooper Ramo, the first woman President of the United States Bar Association and a long-time friend of Justice Ginsburg, and University of New Mexico Law Student Victoria LeBlanc Vialpando.
