NYSEG Power Restoration Update:

As of the conference call with NYSEG at 3pm, NYSEG reports that they still have over 20,000 customers still without power. They currently have over a hundred crews, including tree crews out. Due to the high number of effected customers without power, NYSEG is deeming this as a multi-day incident. Currently they report of approximately 700 power lines down and 46 poles that are in need of replacement. According to their website the Village of Alden has approximately 51 customers without power, and approximately 721 Town customers without power.

If you're street is listed with and estimated time of restoration you should expect service to come back on today. However, if your street states "assessing" crews have not determined or have not been able to give an update of restoration time...as a note those customers can expect service back tomorrow at the earliest.
NYSEG will be setting up centers for the distribution of dry ice and bottled water for affected customers. OEM along with the media will put this information out publicly as soon as we receive it from NYSEG.

If you see a power line down, DO NOT GO NEAR IT AND DO NOT TOUCH IT. There is always a possibility that these lines are live and very dangerous.
Please pass this information onto to friends, relatives and neighbors, as not everyone is involved with social media.
As always, we keep you update with any new information we receive.
