No one will ever forget where they were on September 11, 2001. The Salvation Army was honored to be among the first responders in the wake of the attack. More than 39,000 of our volunteers served at Ground Zero during the next nine months, providing countless meals, water, and support to the heroic men and women working there. We are grateful to all of our loyal supporters who allowed us to shine the light of God’s love in terrorism’s darkness.

INTERNATIONAL PRAYER FOCUS
August 9-15 Canada & Bermuda Territory

Eyes to see and ears to hear what the Lord is saying to us in these days—embracing innovative ideas as we work through this pandemic. As we do so, being productive and God-honouring in everything we say and do—desiring to serve all people no matter their age, race, or socio-economic status.

To continue developing a deeper relationship with Christ as we daily strive to cope with the realities of COVID-19—caring for the mental, physical and spiritual well-being of officers, leaders and all those we serve.

Relationships to become stronger with others: in our corps, our social settings, and in our communities—ultimately lifting high the name of Jesus.

A fresh Territorial vision and strategic plan for how we will “re-group” following the pandemic—in a way that is even better than ever before. And in doing so, breaking down any walls, barriers or prejudices.

A renewed emphasis on discipleship as we connect with others virtually or in person—all for the extension of the Kingdom of God.

To harness the vitality and passion of our young people – bringing new hope for the days that lie ahead. For all children and youth to play a vital and significant role as we move forward in new and exciting ways.

Spiritual renewal in our congregational life—no matter what that looks like in the days to come. For all people to develop a longing to go deeper with Christ.

Candidate recruitment and cultivation to continue -- thanking God for an increased number of cadets. We pray for wisdom relating to their continued training during COVID-19 —and beyond.

Wisdom and discernment for our Territorial Leaders, Commissioners Floyd and Tracey Tidd and Colonels Edward and Shelley Hill, as they make critical decisions in the days that lie ahead—wanting our Army to be more effective and efficient as we serve others.

Above all, we pray that God will sanctify us wholly, in order that we be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ!

08/05/2020

How can words ever fully express our deep appreciation for you? Because of you, neighbors in need find practical help that enables them to overcome desperate circumstances. You help make all of this possible. You help us share hope to the least fortunate people in our community. And we can never thank you enough. http://ow.ly/dBtI50AMCOX
