*What to DO in a crisis: communicate early & often, assemble & support a strong team, run simulations, challenge scenarios cross-functionality, and adjust your planning horizon.
*What NOT to do: don't wait on "clarity", don't shortcut the process fundamentals, don't set your plan in stone, don't underestimate the consequences, and don't forget about the people.

"What's become very clear to me is the magic of leading an organization successfully in this moment is A) to be human, and to recognize that your team is human. And, therefore the nuances and complexity of what people are going through outside of their professional lives is incredibly important to understand and have in the front of your mind as you make decisions. So, I've been very focused on combining anecdote with data."

National Defense Transportation Association

Since World War II, the National Defense Transportation Association (NDTA) has served our country’s national defense and homeland security as a trusted environment where government, military, and private sector professionals can solve pressing challenges in the fields of logistics, transportation, and passenger travel services.

  • NDTA is a non-political, non-profit educational organization. Our three priorities are to:

  • Maintain that “trusted environment” by facilitating strong working relationships, education, and the exchange of ideas

  • Invest in programs and capabilities that provide value to our corporate and individual members, and help develop the next generation of professionals
  • Nearby government services
