APM Vocational Institute is a mobile training unit providing Department of Labor and EPA approved courses for the construction industry in Spanish and English from award-winning instructors.

The bilingual approach to electrical & HVAC apprenticeship teaches technical concepts in one's native language and then reinforces the lesson in technical English to ensure success on the job site and state exams. Leadership & Communications courses for crew leaders and managers are also offered.

New EPA regulations require that home improvements or repairs disturbing a painted surface larger than six feet follow protection procedures from airborne lead paint exposure. All trades impacted. APM Vocational will be presenting updates on this soon.

It is a typical weekend in the Washington DC area. Sunday I will be teaching Level 1 and Level 2 electrical apprenticeship courses in Annandale, Virginia at the governmental center. Then the mobile training unit is off to Puerto Rico to prepare folks for Florida's electrical contractor license exam.

A bus stop with a metro shuttle and Columbia Pike bus routes are located directly in front of the Mason District Governmental Center, the site of our weekend classes in the community rooms to facilitate outreach to unskilled or new workers.
