During the month of July, volunteers at Fannie Mae and our hardworking staff participated in building, decorating and distributing 150 birdhouses to our homeowners and local community centers.

As of last week, the last of our birdhouses have been delivered to Leonard "Chick" Armstrong Recreation Center!

We thank everyone for participating and feedback from our seniors, homeowners and community centers have been very positive!

Here we have before and after shots of recent electrical work done for a senior client through our Safe At Home program. Overhead lighting was installed at the top of the stairwell leading to our client's basement. Seniors and the elderly are more likely to sustain serious injuries from falls. By having more lights in the home, missteps, trips and falls are less likely to occur and results in a safer home environment!

D.C. Council Will Phase Out The City's Eviction Moratorium

Beginning today, July 26, the District's eviction moratorium will begin to phase out under legislation passed by the D.C. Council.

"One of the strongest protections implemented during the pandemic is the District's blanket ban on evictions, which prohibited landlords from removing tenants from their homes."

Lawmakers have now unanimously approved emergency legislation that will gradually phase out tenant protections. Check out the link below to learn more about the DC eviction phase out schedule.

I believe Rebuilding Together did amazing work for our neighbors on Evans Lane. Their basement appears to be flooding and despite knocking on their door, we cannot get a hold of them. Can someone associate with this organization DM me if you have a way I can reach them? Thank you!
