Proud to see our Cleveland chapter, Dads Stand Up CLE, featured in Northeast Ohio Parent this week.

Co-founders Jon Gromek and Nick Walton started it because something was missing. As Jon put it: "Our wives were in mom groups, with text chats blowing up, and for a variety of reasons we just really didn't have that as dads. We wanted to create that kind of community."

So they built it — events made for fathers, a halftime shootout with the kids at a Cleveland Soccer Club match, and a Habitat for Humanity build in the works. Big Dad Energy showing up in the community.

The Heritage Foundation's "Saving the Family" report defines only one kind of dad: in the home, bringing home the paycheck. Miss either, and you don't count.
We disagree. So does the data.

The Heritage Foundation's new report defines fatherhood in a very specific way: a married biological father, living under the same roof, functioning primarily as a breadwinner.

If you're a father who shows up consistently — at school pickups, at pediatric appointments, at 11pm phone calls — the report's policy framework doesn't count you. Its proposed Family and Marriage tax credit is available only to married biological parents filing jointly. Its childcare credit is available only to married couples. Involved fathers outside of marriage are invisible by design.

And on the other side of that same coin: the report's own regression analysis lists women entering the workforce as one of the primary drivers of declining fertility rates. It proposes a $2,000 credit explicitly designed to make staying home financially competitive with paid work — available only to married couples.

This report not only amplifies the corrosive idea that when women succeed, families fail but builds policy around it.

Dads have sat out the fight over childcare, housing, and healthcare for too long — issues that were always about their own families.

Dads for All co-founder Justin Cohen on the Firewall podcast: moms have carried this. It's past time dads showed up too. Dads for All exists to get them into in a fight that needed to be theirs all along.

Yesterday the Dads for All Northern Virginia crew showed up at the ALIVE! warehouse on and got to work.

The mission: deliver furniture to families across Northern Virginia who needed it most. Six-plus stops, multiple vehicles, one tight crew of dads. They told us to expect five hours. We were done in just over two. We’re calling it the Dad Speed Run. 🏁

Every role was covered — truck navigation, chase cars, heavy lifting, assembly, and the most important one: connecting with the families we served. Big thanks to our partners at ALIVE! for making this possible and for the incredible work they do in our community every day.

After the route, we sat down together for breakfast. Real talk about dad life. Plenty of laughs. And before we left, the crew had already scheduled the next event and the one after that.

This is Dads for All — and we’re just getting started.

UK dads: parental leave is now a day-one right when starting a new job.

US dads: you need 12 months at the same job before you qualify for any leave at all.

(And when you do? It's unpaid.)
