Please ACT NOW and STOP the American Health Care Act from Taking Medicaid Services from Vulnerable Schoolchildren.
http://actnow.io/zYoWoSu

The U.S. House of Representatives will vote TODAY on the American Health Care Act, legislation to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act, or “Obamacare.” The legislation will change the way states receive Medicaid funds by imposing a per capita allotment funding structure. This will significantly impact the ability of students with disabilities and students in poverty to receive critically necessary health services in schools. These services include speech-language pathology, occupational and physical therapy, mental and behavioral health services, vision and hearing screenings, diabetes and asthma management, wheelchairs and hearing aids.

Action Alert: Obamacare Repeal Threatens Vital Healthcare Services in Schools

TAKE ACTION NOW: Stop America’s most vulnerable children from losing vital healthcare services in schools.

This Thursday, the U.S. House of Representatives will vote on the American Health Care Act, the bill proposed to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act (ACA), or “Obamacare.” The bill would jeopardize health care services students with disabilities and from low-income families receive in public schools by restricting how much Medicaid funds a child can receive. These services include speech-language pathology, occupational and physical therapy, mental and behavioral health services, vision and hearing screenings, diabetes and asthma management and wheelchairs and hearing aids.

You can help stop this by urging Congress now to oppose the bill http://actnow.io/zYoWoSu

If we want a brighter future for our children and country, we must focus our attention on making our public schools the best they can be. Investing in our public schools, which educate nine of every 10 students, is the best investment the federal government can make to drive the economy forward and enhance the quality of life for generations of people. First 100 Days Campaign #Ed100Days

There is no time like the present for public education advocates to make their voices heard. Misleading rhetoric coupled with budget cuts and proposals such as private school vouchers that divert essential funding from our public schools are threatening the continued success of our 50 million children in public schools. We need your voice to speak up for public schools now!

Speechless, but I can write.
Here's what will happen if Republicans pass this bill and gut our health care: Away with Medicaid expansion. Goodbye to the essential health benefits as we know them. People with pre-existing conditions are almost guaranteed to be priced out of the health insurance market. Seniors could face astronomical premiums. States could refuse to provide payment assistance for low-income families.
Our congratulations to Gail Pletnick, School Superintendents Association President 2017-18!
