U.S. Secretary of Defense

This morning, the U.S. Secretary of Defense thanked the patriots of the defense industrial base for keeping critical supply chains operating throughout COVID-19. Your dedication and sacrifice has allowed us to carry out our national security mission.

“We recognize that small business is the foundation of innovation and creativity in our Industrial Base, making up nearly 75 percent of DoD’s prime contractors. And, of the roughly 1.6 million private sector jobs that support national defense, approximately 45 percent belong to small businesses. Rest assured that we will continue to do everything in our power to assist you, every step of the way.”

My heartfelt thanks to the patriots of the defense industrial base. Throughout #COVID19, you’ve kept critical supply chains and maintenance operating. We are indebted to you for your dedication and sacrifice, which allows us to carry out our national security mission.

Are you a small business working with the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) and need a place to buy PPE for your company?

Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) has created a 🆕 small business marketplace within FedMall allowing DoD Small Business Contractors to exclusively browse and shop for non-medical PPE and similar material offered by the commercial supplier community. Helpful buyer and supplier FAQs are linked below ⬇️

◼️ BUYERS
Within the FedMall Marketplace, DLA is implementing this store providing the ability for DoD small business contractors only to purchase non-medical PPE at or below the micro-purchase threshold of $10,000 for use while performing on their government contract. This capability will support reconstitution of our contractor workforce as small businesses have had difficulties purchasing sufficient quantities of non-medical PPE for their employees.

◼️ SUPPLIERS (opportunity)
DLA is actively looking for suppliers to provide non-medical PPE and other similar items. This flyer provides guidance on the who, what, when, and how, as well as the FedMall point-of-contact regarding this corridor.
