First foal of 2012

Wow, we are having a wonderful winter/spring so far!!! Hope this weather holds during foaling season as it looks like we are expecting seven (yep, 7) foals this year. The girls are hug and Blue is already bagging up.

Let the girls out in a larger pasture to run and nibble this evening while I cleaned the tack room. When I called for them to come in for the night they all came running from the far end of the field. It's so thrilling and humbling to me when they respond this way. I just love it.

Three mares, including a maiden mare, are bagging up now. Guessing it will be about 2-3 weeks. Blue, Red, and Blossom.

Looks like we may be expecting 4-6 foals this year. Hard to tell about the two little maiden mares until the time comes.

Star is now in her own paddock and has started to bag up a little bit. When I was combing her tonight, it kind of looked like the foal had dropped too. This is the only foal I'm expecting this year so hope every thing works out well.

Star is due to foal any time but isn't showing any obvious signs yet.
