I want to congratulate Mr. Spencer on his well-earned victory…

I still would like to see Aliceville Elementary School’s playground to be as nice as the other schools in the county. The students of our city deserve it!

I’d love to help in any way with this project — please call on me … you got my number!!

Tomorrow is the “Big Day” … let your voice be heard! Big decisions will be made on the National, State, and Local level.

Attention District 2 voters … I need your vote and “hand-written” approval for the Board of Education position.

Straight ticket voters, I’ve checked with the Secretary of State’s Office; you can still vote a “straight ticket” and cast a “write-in” vote too! Take the time to “fill it in and write it in”.

I feel the need to respond to the ad that the Pickens County Democratic Party placed in the Shoppers Guide and last week’s Pickens County Herald.

They questioned my candidacy because I didn’t choose to run in March. They said I was highly disrespectful of your vote on March 5th. To use that logic; I guess Madam Vice President is being highly disrespectful to the entire the nation because she wasn’t on the ballot in March either. If you’re gonna use that argument against me on the bottom of the ballot; be sure to use the same argument at the top of the ballot.

The ad questioned about my “agendas”, my “special interest”, or my “self-interest”. Here’s my agenda — we can and will do better for education in Pickens County for EVERYONE!!

The past School Year ended as a “cluster bomb” in Aliceville and it was mismanaged by the Superintendent down to the Board Members. When asked how to handle and fix the situation — they remained silent when they had a chance to speak to concerned citizens.

Have you ever been to a Board Meeting? My opponent can’t make a decision unless he gets his orders from the one who purchased the ad I’m referencing — do you hear me, “Daddy Jacket”?

I’ve been accused of not being from Aliceville, but my roots run deep here. My paternal grandparents practiced medicine in Aliceville for many, many years. My parents were graduates of Aliceville High School. I have pastored in Aliceville for 20+ years. My wife has taught at Aliceville Elementary School for 15+ years.

I’ve been accused of being white … you’ve got me there — I’ve been white since 1966!

I’ve been accused of being a minister … you’ve got me there too — I’ve been an ordained minister since 1993.

I’ve been accused of being Republican … that’s not true! When I registered to vote in 1984 in NW Florida, the only way to vote in local races was to vote Democrat. I’ve never changed my affiliation because I vote for the person and not the Party.

If you’re going to question my agenda and my integrity, c’mon on! As Coach Prime says, “I’m keeping receipts”.

In the next 2, 4, and 6 years; many hard decisions are going to have to be made for ALL students in Pickens County. So on Tuesday, be sure to “fill it in and write it in”!

First Name, Charlie … Last Name, Wilson — the ONLY candidate that will be Competent, Effective, and Strong for ALL of District 2; not just one retired educator!!

This past Saturday was Homecoming weekend at my Alma Mater, The University of Alabama. I take great pride in being an alumnus of that institution. I contribute back to the university and attend many sporting events.

This summer, I enjoyed returning to my hometown of Pensacola, Florida to attend my 40th Class Reunion of Booker T. Washington High School. It was great to reminisce with friends and show our Wildcat pride!

It is obvious my opponent in the race for the District 2 Board of Education Member is a proud graduate, and rightly so, of Aliceville High School.

However, after looking at his recent advertisements in the Shoppers Guide and the Pickens County Herald, I believe he’s confused about the position he’s been serving in and hoping to continue.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but the position is for the Board of “Education” not for the “Athletic Director” of Aliceville High School! Of the 28 accomplishments he listed, more than half dealt with athletics and most of the others dealt with landscaping and furniture projects.

If Mr. Spencer claims to have a “Passion for Education”, why does he only lists four items that deal with education?

I can’t argue that Mr. Spencer has done a great job adding to the aesthetics and the experiences at Memorial Stadium and the AHS Gymnasium, but the position for the Board of Education is MORE than that.

The BOE Member needs to be a supporter and advocate for ALL the students, teachers, faculty, and staff for the entire county. I will be a “voice” for all the people of Aliceville; not just a select few.

In a recent public event, Mr. Spencer disparaged my reputation and that of my spouse. We’ve lived and served here in Aliceville long enough for folks to know that Frankie is just spitting in the wind.

So remember, on November 5th, I need your vote and “hand-written” approval for Board of Education District 2.

“Fill it in” and “write it in”! First name, Charlie … last name, Wilson!

In less than two weeks, Tuesday, November 5th, we go to the polls for important races on the National, State, and Local Levels…

District 2 Voters,
I’m asking you to vote for me by “filling in” and “writing in” my name: “Charlie Wilson” for the Board of Education Member for District 2.

Folks have asked me, “Bro. Charlie, why are running for School Board?”

My simple answer is this: “Because I think we must do better for our children.”

I’ve had the honor and privilege to live, minister, and serve in the community of Aliceville for over 20 years. Currently, in the congregation where I pastor, there are children that attend every school in our county with the exception of Pickens County High School. In the past 20 years, I have had church members who have worked at each school in the county, as well as folks who have worked as District employees. My wife has also taught at Aliceville Elementary for over 15 years. Therefore, I can confidently say that I have a good pulse of the state of our School District.

In my opinion, the students, educators, faculty, staff, and facilities have been underserved in Aliceville. Our city is the largest municipality in the School District, and we need better representation.

To advocate to the entire Board and the Superintendent’s Office, Aliceville needs a strong advocate and a compassionate and competent leader.

A few months ago, I preached a sermon and challenged our church to have a more active and impactful role in our community. I got a lot of positive feedback from that sermon. Several days later, I caught myself looking in the mirror and realizing that I need to practice what I preached.

If you live in District 2, I’m asking for your vote and your “hand-written” approval to serve our community in this capacity.

If you live in the other Districts, continue to be a champion for ALL our children and tell your friends, relatives, and neighbors who live in District 2 to “Fill it in and Write it in!”

“First Name, Charlie … Last Name, Wilson for District 2 BOE!”

Don’t vote a straight ticket… First Name, Charlie; Last Name, Wilson for District 2 Board Member ✍️

Dear Citizens of District 2:

In 7 weeks we will have some important decisions to make at the polls. One of which is for our local board of education.

I am running to represent District 2, and especially the Aliceville schools. I feel as though the Board of Education Board Member should be an advocate and supporter of ALL the faculty, staff, administrators, and students of Aliceville Elementary School and Aliceville High School.

As an Aliceville resident and minister for over 20 years, it has become evident that a strong, competent, and effective voice is needed to represent all of District 2.

Since my campaign is a “write it in” vote, I am asking you to “fill it in” and “write it in” Charlie Wilson for BOE District 2.

I look forward to meeting with many of you in the coming weeks as we journey to the polls! First name, Charlie; Last name, Wilson for the people of District 2!
