A small group of women make and donate playing card holders for various groups. These make playing cards more comfortable for those with hand issues. Teachers of young children have also found them helpful in their classes.
We make these in a variety of fabrics for men, women and children. We will be glad to donate to any group that has a need. We have donated to several area senior centers as well as 55 plus communities, assisted living and memory care facilities and a few preschools. If the group is in the Allen/McKinney/Plano area, I would be glad to deliver. Otherwise, we'll work on details on an individual basis.
Please contact Carrie Brazeal via email at [email protected] for more information.

The Children's Health emergency rooms in Dallas and Plano have had unusually high numbers of patients arriving since children began going back to school a few months ago. This means wait times for some patients and limiting visitors to one adult per patient in the waiting room, to avoid overcrowding.
Families can consider alternatives to the ER if life-saving care is not needed:
- We have several Children's Health℠ PM Urgent Care locations open 365 days a year to treat common non-life-threatening conditions.
- Virtual Visit: Brought to families by Children's Health℠ Virtual Care, this option uses video technology virtually anywhere to address flu, sinusitis, ear-nose-and-throat infections, and more.
Families can consider alternatives to the ER if life-saving care is not needed:
Please reshare the post below and visit the website link for more information on when to take a child to the emergency department versus urgent care. https://bit.ly/3Rd8ZMN
With children being exposed to respiratory viruses and other illnesses, we're experiencing higher than normal wait times in our Emergency Rooms. Based on the symptoms your child is experiencing, know when to come to our ER or when to find an urgent care location near you: https://bit.ly/3Rd8ZMN

Pandemic-Related Scam Alert!
There’s a fake IRS email that is popping in people’s emails that says that you can get a third Economic Impact Payment (EIP) if you click a link that lets you “access the form for your additional information” and “get help” with the application. But the link is a trick. If you click it, a scammer might steal your money and your personal information to commit identity theft.
Know that the government will never call, text, email, or contact you on social media saying you owe money, or to offer help getting a third Economic Impact Payment (EIP). And say no to anyone who contacts you, claiming to be from a government agency and asking for personal or financial information, or for payment in cash, gift cards, wire transfers, or cryptocurrency.

The Collin County Mental Health Symposium is coming up! The agenda outlines so many community intercepts to target and assists with the gaps and lack of resources that parents, medical professionals, law enforcement, first responders, educators, court officers, city leaders, business owners, local government personnel and so many more experience. The Symposium will assist in identifying resources, understanding services, and networking with others as we continue this journey together.
Mental Health and Intellectual Development Disabilities is an area that will touch your life, if not through lived experiences for yourself or a loved one, then by being an active community member.
If history tells us anything, it shows that people fear what they don’t understand and what they don’t know.

Plano 911 has a wonderful and completely underutilized program called CARE. This program is for Plano citizens that for whatever reason would like a daily phone call to make sure they are okay. If you are on short or long-term rehabilitation or a senior citizen living alone, this may be a great fit for you.
