Great work!

This morning members of the Chapter 37 Police Unity Tour (Waldwick PD, Allendale PD, Upper Saddle River PD, Englewood PD, Westwood PD, Northvale PD and Bergen County Sheriff’s Dept.) left for their 40 mile ride in memory of Bro. Goodell and all of the fallen.

The family of Bro. Goodell was grateful for this being organized and for continuing to honor Christopher and for all of our love and support over the past 6 years. They also thanked us for our service to our communities and for all we do every day.

Andrew J. Baum
2/13/51 - 7/5/20 (69 yrs of age) passed this morning battling the debilitating effects from Parkinson’s Disease.

Andy started his Law Enforcement career with the Haledon NJ Police Department for 2 years before transferring to the Borough of Allendale, where he served with distinction for 27 years. During his course of service he was a pioneer as being one of the first Agencies in Bergen County to initiate the K9 program. He was pivotal in guiding other Agencies thru initial phase of starting their programs, serving as over site on executive decision making panels regarding potential applicants and training with other handlers. Partaking in numerous public demonstration events and community relations displays, as well as normal patrol and 24 hour K9 call out duties. He served numerous contiguous towns in Northern Bergen County.

He was also involved in vehicle fleet maintenance, acquisition of new vehicles and vehicle graphics and up fitting of new vehicles.

He was a unique and knowledgeable officer, he was a forth right individual, officers that worked with him always felt safe having he and his dog working with them. Those of us that had the pleasure of being his friend, under his tutelage or working with him had the benefit of fierce loyalty, a good mentor and a excellent partner. Described by others as, “ a cops, cop” and a “good man”.

During the length of his career, Andy had the pleasure of training and working with 3 Police K9s, “Guardian”, “Axel” and “Apollo”.

Rest easy our brother we got it from here, till we all meet again.

Andy is survived by his wife, daughter and 2 sons. Family will be having small private ceremony with Memorial Service to follow at a later date.

Phase 2 Water Restrictions in Effect

As of Saturday, June 27, 2020

The demand for water in the entire region is heavy due to lack of rain. The Borough’s wells and supply system are severely stressed. Daily usage must be reduced for safe preservation of our water supply. Please cooperate in this community effort. Neighboring municipalities in our area and SUEZ Water are also experiencing high demands on their water supply.

The Allendale Police Department is aware of the late night fireworks that have been randomly occurring throughout the Borough and surrounding towns. We have Patrol Officers working to stop the problem.

It is important to remember that fireworks can cause serious bodily injury and can be frightening to certain individuals and pets.

The State of New Jersey allows only certain types of fireworks to be used by non professionals and to always be considerate of your neighbors and fellow residents.

There has been an increase in reports of the Grandparent Scam resurfacing where an individual will call an elderly person and pretend to be a grandchild, or an attorney representing the grandchild. Typically, the story is that the grandchild is in another state or country and has been arrested. The individual asks that the grandparent wires money to pay the attorney, or for bail. DO NOT SEND MONEY. Call police headquarters at 201-825-1900 and make a report if this happens to you.

With more and more people shopping from home and having deliveries made, patrol is noticing packages being left out in the open for long periods of time, or even over night, which makes for prime opportunities for thieves to steal them. We suggest safely moving them to a garage or back yard (out of sight) to let the packages decon and obviously wash your hands after doing so! Borough of Allendale

Maybe people need to be reminded to stay off unsafe ice 🧊 as it warms. Two NJ Teens were recently killed 😢 in ice accidents.
Thank you so much to everyone at the APD who helped my daughter after she was approached on Franklin Turnpike today. We really appreciate you!
Hi, I am a volunteer with The Sato Project and one of our foster dogs ran away last night in Allendale. Would you be able to share this post for me? We are asking people to only report sightings and not to chase him or call out his name. We could also use help hanging flyers if anyone has time today or tomorrow. Thank you very much!
I would like to receive notifications from Swiftreach sent out by email as a resident of Allendale. My email is different from my husband Don Ahnemann’s.email. We live at 125 Powell Road in Allendale. My email is [email protected]. We use my husband‘s cell phone 1 201 755-6659. I believe our land line is what you have on your records, a phone we almost never use due to so many spam calls. That number is 201 327-0887. if you want to contact us by phone please use my husband’s cell. Again, 201 755-6659. . Thank fo your attention to this request.

SHOUT OUT: Thanks to a generous local contractor, Allendale police updated their duty wear and picked up additional lifesaving equipment.
Thank you for coming to the rescue of me and my dog this morning. It is so wonderful to know that the police are here to help. The emergency might have seemed trivial, but to me it was a true emergency and the police responded with kindness and understanding. I'm sorry I didn't get the policeman's name.
#NOTEVENONCE: It’s one thing to have authority figures warn schoolkids of the dangers of heroin and opioids, but it’s another when it’s recovering addicts, as students at Northern Highlands Regional High School learned.
Thank you Allendale Police and Officer Hubbard for all your help this morning. You are truly exceptional!!
Can you share this out please?
Thanks Allendale Police for keeping Allendale residents safe as they left the Holiday Observer Easter candy event at Crestwood. Thanks also to the officer who helped with one of our signs while picking up our signs after the event. We appreciate your service to Allendale in so many ways.
