Today, our crew spent a couple hours at an acquired structure. We practiced “Through the Wall Extraction”. This technique is used in extreme emergencies when a firefighter is trapped in a room and has no other way out. Each wall used had a cedar side to it, adding some challenge to the exercise. #upperfreeholdnj #allentownnj #allentownnjlife #pfanjonthejob #pfanj #iaff #firefightersoffacebook #nj #njfirefighters
Our Crew of 4 is off to a busy morning. Back to back calls since we started. Just a reminder, if you have a generator running: DO NOT RUN IT IN THE HOUSE. Make sure it’s placed in a well ventilated area. More to follow. #pfanjonthejob #pfanj #iaff #generatorsafety #firesafety #firesafetytips #upperfreehold #allentownnj
Everyday we train. Yesterday, we did a Firefighter down drill. One firefighter acted as an unconscious firefighter as other firefighters came to his rescue. While we never want to see this in real life, we practice it so if it does happen we are quick to respond. This training was done with our members and the Volunteers of Hope Fire Company Sta. 82-1. In this video Volunteer Firefighter Henry is pulling Career Firefighter Connor to safety. #alwaystraining #upperfreeholdnj #creamridge #staffingmatters #allentownnj #allentownnjlife

Good Morning, Upper Freehold. This morning we have 1 full time firefighter/Driver, 3 Per Diem Firefighter/Drivers, and 1 Volunteer Firefighter answering calls on the primary crew. As always we have Hope Fire Company Sta. 82-1 Volunteers to support us as well. It’s great having a good working relationship with all those involved. #iaff #staffingmatters #firefighters #morningchecks
Yesterday, our staff trained on hydrant operations. Each crew member acted as the hydrant member, pulling the supply line and setting the hydrant up. Each driver practiced setting up the supply on the other end. They had the deck gun in operation, so they had limited time to get the supply set up. #tattoo #firefightersofinstagram #iaff #staffingmatters #firefightertraining #chiefmiller

Dry Hydrant Testing
Over the last couple weeks our staff has been going around Upper Freehold Township & Allentown Boro testing all the Dry Hydrants. We do this twice a year to ensure there are no problems with the Hydrants. We check for debris and ensure we can operate properly using these hydrants.
This is the same as the water company flushing the regular hydrants in Allentown Boro.

12/1/15- Barn Fire
On December 1, 2015 Upper Freehold Firefighters along with the Allentown First Aid Squad were dispatched to a reported barn fire at 19 Wygant Road in Upper Freehold. Ambulance 8256 was nearby the incident at the time of dispatch and arrived minutes later to find multiple pieces of gas powered equipment engulfed in flames in the rear section of the barn. Due to the age of the barn and its construction, the flames quickly spread throughout the barn. Engine 82-82 arrived on scene and quickly deployed a 2.5 inch attack line to try and contain the flames. As more apparatus from Sta 32-1 (Millstone) and Sta 39 (Plumstead) arrived, a supply line was dropped down the driveway so arriving tankers could provide a water supply. Crews were able to put the fire under control in about 40 minutes, however extensive over haul was needed. The fire was contained to the barn and no injuries were reported.
Special thanks to all the mutual aid companies who assisted in this operation.
