Sarah McGuire from MI Lavender Farm on Leer Road in Posen was the guest speaker at the June meeting of Alpena Garden Club. She talked about the different varieties of lavender that they grow on their farm and the different products she makes with the lavender. She makes bouquets, sachets and laundry dryer bags, salve, lotion bars, face serums, soap, lip balm etc.

Alpena Garden Club had a table set up at the Alpena Flower Festival. You could plant a sunflower or bean and also get information about joining Alpena Garden Club.

TODAY!!!! Don’t forget the plant sale.
Alpena Garden Club and ACC growers will have their annual sale on Thursday May 21,2026 from 4-7 pm. The sale is held at the ACC greenhouse area off Woodward Avenue (across from Northern Lights Arena). They will be selling tomatoes, peppers, herbs and flowers, including hanging baskets. Same low prices. There will also be a perennial plant sale at the same time, same location, of plants donated by garden club members. Bring boxes to take your plants home.
