CITY COUNCIL UPDATE: Alpharetta has a first class trail system, including 6 miles of Alpha Loop and 12+ miles of Greenway. City Council took the next step to further expand and connect the trail system by approving a $15,991,962 design-build contract to construct the Alpha Link between Haynes Bridge Road and Encore Parkway running parallel to GA 400. The Alpha Link will connect to the Alpha Loop at Morrison Lake behind Lakeview (NW corner of Haynes Bridge and GA 400) and link to the Greenway at the Encore Gateway under construction at the intersection of Encore Parkway and North Point Parkway. Project funds include $10,000,000 from TSPLOST II, $4,040,000 from the 2022 Parks Bond, and $974,551 from the Impact Fee Fund. In addition, our good friends at True North 400 are contributing $977,411 for the new Encore Plaza at the corner of Fanfare Way and Encore Parkway. Construction is expected to take approximately 18.5 months.

We had a good turnout and excellent discussion at last nights town hall meeting. Thank you to everyone who attended and for your questions and comments. Thanks to Councilman Kirk Driskell for co-hosting the evening and for his insights. And a special thanks to Alpharetta Fire Chief Brad Denkinger and Police Deputy Chief Scott Mechler for taking the time to provide a public safety update and to take questions from our residents. Their transparency and accountability are among the many reasons our fire and police departments are second to none.
