We're hiring! Looking for a highly motivated Fire Sprinkler Inspector!
Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Fire Sprinkler Inspector to join our team. As a Fire Sprinkler Inspector, you will be responsible for inspecting and testing fire sprinkler systems to ensure they are operating effectively and in compliance with applicable codes, regulations, and industry standards. You will work closely with our clients to assess their fire sprinkler systems, identify any deficiencies or potential hazards, and provide detailed reports and recommendations for corrective actions.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct inspections of fire sprinkler systems in commercial, industrial, Medical, and residential properties.
- Test fire sprinkler systems using appropriate tools and equipment to verify their proper operation.
- Ability to perform Inspection and testing of Fire Pumps, Preaction, Deluge, Dry Systems, Wet System, and Standpipes.
- Complete all required inspection reports, work orders, timesheets and return to inspection manager in a neat and timely manner
- Identify deficiencies or potential hazards in fire sprinkler systems and provide detailed reports to clients.
- Ability to identify Impairments, deficiencies, and critical deficiencies.
- Must be able to coordinate materials and labor involved for deficiency corrections with Inspection Manager.
- Collaborate with clients to develop and implement corrective actions for identified deficiencies
- Stay up-to-date with fire codes, regulations, and industry standards to ensure compliance
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, tests, and corrective actions
- Communicate effectively with clients, team members, and other stakeholders.
- Provide exceptional customer service and establish positive relationships with clients.
Requirements:
- Must be a Sprinkler Fitters Local 281 Journeyman in good standing.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Fire Sprinkler Inspector.
- Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds above your head.
- Must be able to climb ladders, crouch in confined spaces, and work in high places.
- Knowledge of NFPA 25 and Chicago Municipal Code
- Strong technical skills in inspecting, testing, and troubleshooting fire sprinkler systems
- General knowledge of Fire Alarm System and a variety of Fire Alarm Control Panels.
- Ability to interpret technical documents, such as blueprints, schematics, and specifications
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Detail-oriented with the ability to identify and document deficiencies accurately
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Must possess good driving and criminal history
- Must be able to utilize an Iphone and Apps associated with inspection procedures including but not limited to Microsoft OneNote, Excel, and Outlook (email).
- Knowledge of Inspect Point Software, Brycer / The Compliance Engine a plus, but not required.
