This Tuesday is the primary election. It is extremely important that all registered voters get out there to make their choices. There are quite a few important races going on right now. Not only the school board but for City Council, The Mayor, County Judges and several Magisterial Judges. It is our duty to get out there and vote for who you want to represent us locally. Also a reminder that both School Board and Judges cross file so it does not matter what your political party is. Support who you feel is best for the job.

Hello friends and family! Beginning yesterday, I was permitted to begin to gather signatures to have my name printed on the official ballot for the primary election for the AASD School Board. The school board only requires 10 signatures. However, I would like to multiply that by at least 10 and get over 100 signatures. My first night, I was able to get 13. In the coming weeks, I will ask you to support my run for school board and to sign my petition. If you live in the Altoona Area School District, please connect with me, and I would be happy to meet you at your place of residence or at my office to get your signature and your support. I will be cross filing, which means I can obtain signatures from both registered Republicans and Democrats who live in the Altoona Area School District. Steve Lawson has graciously agreed to help me get petitions signed, so you can also connect with him. Thank you all for the love and support.

Christopher Cook a lifelong Altoona resident who has lived in the Hileman Heights neighborhood for the past 21 years is running for the Altoona Area School Board. He is currently serving as an interim School Board member after being voted in by the current board to fill a vacancy.
Christopher is a 1998 graduate of Altoona Area High School. He then attended Shenandoah University in Wi******er Virginia. Over the past 13 years he has volunteered throughout the School District from the time his daughter was in kindergarten through her graduation in 2022.
He Is a proven business leader in Altoona and has great pride for his city. He is actively involved in numerous boards throughout Blair County and an active member of Center City Church in Downtown Altoona. He is a 2017 graduate of leadership Blair County and continues to be very active in the chamber.
If elected he will continue to keep his promise of putting students and their education first. He will continue to be fiscally responsible with the taxpayers money and continue to support the safety of all of the children throughout the district. He is a very strong supporter of the CTC program and thoroughly enjoys his time as part of the joint operating committee.
Christopher will be cross filing on both the Republican and Democratic ticket.
