Upon contact with the victim it was reported that a verbal altercation ensued between him and the defendant, ADAM PAUL GEORGE. George retreated to his residence at which time he shouted som**hing to the victim and went inside. George then exited the front of his residence holding a black semi-automatic pistol and assumed a shooting stance before pointing the pistol at the victim. If you see Sergeant Terry Walter today, make sure to congratulate him as today at 1600hrs marks his last working day at the Logan Township Police Department!

Sgt. Walter started his career in October, 1983 where he served in the United States Marine Corp. acting as an Infantry Squad Leader. After retiring from the Marine Corp., Sgt Walter was hired as a Corrections Officer at the Blair County Prison in 1987. It was then evident that Sgt. Walter wanted a career in protecting those around him when he obtained his Police Certification through the IUP Police Academy in 1989. Sgt. Walter was hired by the Logan Township Police Department on March 9, 1992 which is where he would spend the next 30 years of his life devoting countless hours protecting the residents of Logan. In August, 1996 Logan Township restarted their K9 Program to which Sgt. Walter obtained two (2) working dogs throughout his career namely, Dakota & Sam. In 1997 Sgt. Walter organized the LTPD softball tournament to which he would continue with through 2007 with the help from many volunteers. Sgt. Walter was very proud of this event, helping raise over $50,000 in ten years to which it was donated to local charities such as CYS and the Miracle League, only to name a few. In August, 2008 the Logan Township Police Department promoted then PATROL OFFICER Terry Walter to Sergeant of the Patrol Division. This is where Sgt. Walter would finish out his career, supervising many new patrol officers and helping prepare them for the everyday duties of a Police Officer.

Thank you Terry, for your commitment to the Township, you will be missed! 504 BADGE 30 out of service.

The Altoona Police Department announces the arrest of 34yr old ANTHONY JOSEPH GOTTLIEB in connection with an investigation of multiple vehicle entries and thefts throughout the City of Altoona.

An APD Detective who was investigating this incident had surveillance video of the thefts from vehicles, which was compared with video from a reported theft of security cameras from an elevator at Ida Towers, 1010 12th St. Through follow-up interviews and a photo lineup, that Detective was able to positively identify the suspect as GOTTLIEB. An arrest warrant was obtained for GOTTLIEB for the theft of the security cameras which were valued in excess of $1,000.00.

On 12/24/21 at 4:48am, officers who were actively patrolling neighborhoods, specifically searching for suspects breaking into vehicles , were dispatched to the 1900 block of Logan Ave. for report of a male wearing a backpack, trying the doors of parked cars. Officers canvassed the area and located GOTTLIEB hiding amongst the vehicle inventory at J&P Auto Mart, 1906 Pleasant Valley Blvd. where he was taken into custody.

GOTTLIEB was in possession of numerous stolen items including over $900 in cash, winning scratch off lottery tickets, debit cards, gift cards etc.

ANTHONY JOSEPH GOTTLIEB is charged with multiple offenses including numerous counts of Theft from a Motor Vehicle, Receiving Stolen Property, Prohibited Offensive Weapons, and additional related charges. This investigation is ongoing, as detectives continue to connect GOTTLIEB with other incidents reported throughout the city over a period of time.

Thank you all for your service. You do not deserve the negativity! Keep up your good work!!
You guys protect lying people and don’t back check anything when someone puts a PFA on someone what a joke and I pay your salary
Thank you for post this information. For me it is clear and straight to the point.
Today on my walk around the block, I was uplifted to see many neighbors were chalk drawing on their driveways cute things and writing positive messages to passerbys!
Would love if this were a neighborhood trend everywhere right now! Especially here in the Altoona area. Think about driving past Chapel/Canterberry Drive this evening (before the rain) to catch the inspiration!
To our Logan Township Police Officers, we want to thank you for the GREAT JOB you do andante to say thanks on National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day, thank you so much and be safe out there
We are now up to 35 kids and their families who will have a Great Christmas this year because of your generosity.
We need another $2000 to be able to help the remaining kids on our list.
We are not asking for hundreds of dollars or even $25, $5 or $10 will help us get to our goal. Message me or stop at one of the stores to drop off your donations.
Anyone who donates will receive a DVD showing Santa and local police delivering gifts on their visits to the families. You also will be mentioned on the DVD. You will receive a breakdown of all amounts of money collected and how it was spent.

Thank you
Big shout out to Officer Shay ( dunno if the spelling is right) from the Logan Township Police who took a few minutes this morning to talk to my son and show him the lights and inside of his cruiser. My son loves emergency vehicles and personnel as most kids do. You definitely made his day!
Love our Logan Township police department!!!🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Is there a curfew for noise in the township? Not fireworks, next door neighbor’s having a party with band. Very loud. First loud music started at noon, then band came after storm- he screams in microphone announcements. Drums also very loud. My Family member needs to be at work at 6 AM tomorrow. Neighbor’s have these parties before they lasted till 4. We try to be patient - they are young but enough is enough.
It is not an emergency so I tried the non emergency number - got a recording asking for a mailbox number. Help please.
Really good idea to text while driving suv logan cop. Thought you were sliding then realized you were just involved with your phone!!
Anyone else hearing gun shots on Juniata Gap Rd about 11:30pm. I've heard about 10-12 of them so far.
