Potter-Randall Democratic Club

Potter-Randall Democratic Club Potter-Randall Democratic Club According to Charter Member Ms. Lois Johnson (President at least two times):

The club was started in 1971. to 8:00 p.m.

The Democratic ladies were fed up with some of the Republican shenanigans and decided to have a phone banking committee. They called about 40 people, and the Potter-Randall Democratic Women's Club was established. The idea was to help all the local and regional Democratic candidate running for office Dee Miller's wife, JoAnn Miller, was the president of the group. Mary Jo Spradlin was the Potter C

ounty Democratic Chair. In the early years, Potter County contained the main phone banking numbers. At one time, the club executive committee meeting was held in an automobile with four people in attendance. Around 1977 men were allowed to join and pay dues, but they couldn't vote. Of course that has changed now. Over the years, there were a number of programs presented including an appearance by Mrs. Lloyd Benson and other dignitaries. Once, Paul Gaither, a popular Potter County Sheriff and his deputy arrived at the meeting on horseback. All-in-all a very colorful background. Meetings are held January through October. Each meeting features a speaker or program with a political or civic theme. Monthly meetings are held on the 4th Monday of the month. Social time is 6:30 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. and the meeting is from 7:00 p.m. We look forward to seeing you at a meeting.
