Amherst Rotary decorated the Rotary pavilion for this weekend's Buffalo Niagara Heritage Village trick-or-treat nights. After the kids make their way around the spooky houses parents stop by for cider and donuts served by members of the Amherst and Williamsville clubs. It's a fun night for the whole family.

Amherst Rotary Donated $4250.00 and sweat equity to Sleep in Heavenly Peace Buffalo to Purchase Mattresses and Build Beds.

Amherst Rotary secured a District 7090 grant to help with mattress purchase. We support Sleep in Heavenly Peace's mission belief that a bed is a basic need for the proper physical, emotional and mental support that a child needs. When it was brought to our attention that the need for beds went far beyond our own neighborhoods, we stepped up and took initiative raised funds through our wine tasting and put together a donation.

Sleep in Heavenly Peace is where it is today because of the passionate community of volunteers that includes Amherst Rotary who believe in the mission of getting kids off the floor and into beds.

We will be volunteering May 10 to build bunks; in addition, we remain vocal advocates for SHP's mission.

We had an incredible speaker with us today, author and mental health and su***de prevention advocate Sarah Klaiber - Associate Real Estate Broker. She shared her story with us, read us her memoir that can be found in the book The Power to Rise Above, and shared how she rebuilt herself and her life while working through depression, addiction, and mental health struggles. Thank you Sarah for sharing your inspiring story!
