We're a proud member of the NeighborWorks America network, and are excited to have Haa Yakaawu Financial Corporation in the network too, bringing their expertise and experience with them. NeighborWorks' CEO Marietta Rodriguez and her team visited earlier this month.

“This visit was about seeing what it really takes to create housing solutions in communities facing unique and evolving challenges,” Rodriguez said. “What stood out throughout the day was the level of partnership, innovation and determination driving this work forward.”

What does community-led housing look like in action? In Juneau, Alaska, NeighborWorks America saw firsthand how Native-led partnerships, local leadership, and community collaboration are creating housing solutions that reflect the needs and future of the people who call these communities home.

From expanding affordable housing opportunities to strengthening long-term community well-being, these efforts show what’s possible when residents lead the way.

We 💛 this project! Congratulations to Alaska Literacy Program for leading this effort and pouring so much expertise and care into creating a more welcoming park. 24 languages on 24 signs is incredible--and the signs are beautiful!

Love seeing these throwbacks from the Federation of Community Councils, Inc.--including materials for a 2014 training volunteers in our Community Leadership Institute worked on with lots of partners. We continue to support and empower civic engagement, and these training topics look just as relevant today: how to lead interesting meetings, problem solving, can Robert's Rules help, and more!

The 100 Miles in May Challenge is a fundraiser for the Healthy Futures program, which works to empower Alaska's youth to build the habit of daily physical activity.

We're excited for this ribbon cutting to celebrate new signs at Russian Jack Springs Park! The Alaska Literacy Program, with their team of Peer Navigators and volunteers, did an incredible job creating and designing new signs to welcome our diverse community into the park with interpretations in 24 languages!
