Our programs acknowledge children learn through active, hands-on involvement with their environment, peers, and caring adults. Children are valued as individuals, as well as part of a group. Our program respects and supports the ideals, cultures, and values of families. We advocate for children, families, and the early childhood profession. Services offered at these locations include full-day care, before and after school care, and hourly child care on a space available basis.

Parents of CDC 2, due to the a/c being down, the facility will be closed Tuesday 5 July and possibly Wednesday 6 July. You will receive a phone call and/or email explaining what accommodations, if any, have been made for your child. Calls and/or emails will be sent by this evening (3 July). On 20 Jan. 22, all JBA childcare facilities will delay opening. For MISSION ESSENTIAL, they will open at 8 a.m. with limited staffing solely for active duty single and/or dual active duty members deemed mission essential during times of inclement weather, and who have a letter on file with their childcare facility. For all other patrons, the facilities will open at 9 a.m.

The CHILD DEVELOPMENT CENTER (CDC) and School Age Care (SAC) will consolidate down to one facility (CDC 2 - located at 4783 San Antonio Blvd). During the base closure, care will only be provided to those active duty single and/or dual military members deemed MISSION ESSENTIAL during times of inclement weather, and who have a letter on file with their childcare facility. The Child Development Center (CDC) and School Age Care (SAC) will consolidate down to one facility (CDC 2 - located at 4783 San Antonio Blvd). The consolidation will be this week only and is due to an increase in COVID-19 positivity rates on the installation and surrounding areas. We have consolidated our providers to one facility to ensure there is familiarity for our children within CDC 2. We are committed to the safety of children and providers as our #1 priority. Parents,

Due to the the severe weather conditions from yesterday and todays road conditions we will have a very small number of providers available for non mission essential personnel. Prior to coming to the CDCs we are asking for you to call CDC 2 , commercial 301-981-3323.
As a reminder the installation commander has recommended to squadron commanders for non-mission essential personnel/max telework authorized and encouraged.

UPDATE:

INCLEMENT WEATHER UPDATE | In accordance with OPM guidance and in response to the inclement weather reported for Joint Base Andrews tomorrow, January 3, 2022, the Installation Commander has ordered maximum telework with mission essential personnel reporting based on their specific command needs. You may experience unanticipated delayed openings or closures as conditions change for the safety of our personnel and the base population. The information below outlines specific services guidance:

-During the base closure, child care will only be provided to those active duty single and/or dual military members deemed mission essential during times of inclement weather, and who have a letter on file with their childcare facility.

--The MALCOLM GROW MEDICAL CLINICS AND SURGERY CENTER will be closed on Jan 3, 2022. If you have an appointment on this day, please call 1-855-227-6331 to reschedule. The Emergent Care Center will remain open to provide emergency and urgent care services. The Nurse Advice Line (NAL) is available 24/7 for medical information and advice for TRICARE beneficiaries. To reach the NAL, please call 1-888-999-1212, option 1, then 4.

-AAFES may experience delayed openings for the safety of personnel and will prioritize access to the Express to ensure fuel, foods, and necessities are available. Contact information for all offerings can be found here: https://www.shopmyexchange.com/.../JB-Andrews--1040303

-JBA Visitor Control Center (VCC) will maintain their hours of operation with limited staffing but ability to provide all services. Additional information can be found on the JBA website: jba.af.mil or by calling the visitor control center at 301-981-0232/0689.

-The Virginia Gate will be closed in accordance with the base closure due to inclement weather. It will reopen for normal operations on Tuesday, 4 Jan 2022, at 0500 hours. Please use the Main and Pearl Harbor Gates for installation access.

-There is no change to police response capabilities and the Base Defense Operations Center can be reached at 1-301-981-2001.

INCLEMENT WEATHER | The Installation Commander has ordered delayed reporting for Joint Base Andrews on January 3, 2022 until 10:00 a.m., mission essential personnel must report at the normal time. If you are unsure of your status, call your supervisor. Non-emergency employees will have additional time to report to duty and are encouraged to maximize telework with your supervisor’s approval.

You may experience unanticipated delayed openings or closures as conditions change for the safety of our personnel and the base population. The information below outlines specific services guidance:

-All JBA childcare facilities will open at 7:00 a.m. with limited staffing solely for active duty single and/or dual active duty members deemed mission essential during times of inclement weather, and who have a letter on file with their childcare facility. For all other patrons, the facilities will open at 9:00 a.m.

-The dining facility and lodging will maintain normal operations. Other services will be available in-line with delayed reporting. You are encouraged to reach out directly to offices and agencies for more information regarding available services.

-The Malcolm Grow Medical Clinics and Surgery Center will open at 10:00 a.m. If you have an appointment prior to 10:00, please call 1-855-227-6331 to reschedule. Those scheduled to receive COVID vaccine prior to 10:00 may walk-in at the vaccine site any time between 10:00 – 2:00 or reschedule for later this week.
