Should You Leave Your Lights On At Night? It Depends

Interesting article from NPR regarding home security and lighting: http://www.npr.org/2016/02/23/466603833/should-you-leave-your-lights-on-at-night-it-depends?utm_source=facebook.com&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=npr&utm_term=nprnews&utm_content=20160223

Dear neighbors, the RBCA has been generously donated space to build a storage shed within the neighborhood so we can get out of paying for the monthly storage unit for our supplies (what we use for the block parties, signs, etc.). We are putting out a call for any volunteers to assist with building the shed and foundation when the time comes within the next month, and if anyone wishes to donate to help offset the cost of the shed it would be greatly appreciated. Please send an email to [email protected] if you're able to help in any way. PS - I should have the new website up soon!

The RBCA would like to inform our fellow neighbors of the following information from The Friends of the George Mason Regional Library:

"The Friends of the George Mason Regional Library provide funding for many Fairfax County Public Library project not included in the county budget. We are especially proud to sponsor the Children's Summer Reading Program for the county. Our Friends group is totally volunteer effort for our community. We work all year for our two used book sales and we need your help.

Our used book sales offer thousands of hardbacks and paperbacks, art to military history to science fiction to cookbooks and everything in between! We have a great selection of children's books. We also have many old and rare books, comic books, and graphic novels. We also have CDs, DVDs, recorded books, and sheet music.

Our book sales are wonderful opportunities for community participation - sales, volunteers, donors of books, and pleased purchasers of bargains and treasures.

We would really appreciate your support. In these tight budgetary times, community support of your libraries is more important that ever. If you have any questions, please email [email protected] or call the Friends of George Mason Regional Public Library at 703-813-6616."
