#BeFCPD PFC Sefiane shares his story for becoming a police officer

PFC Tarik Sefiane was adopted and raised in Morocco. His parents are Fairfax County natives but moved there to help orphaned children. Years later, PFC Sefiane and his parents moved to Fairfax County. He wanted to give back to his parents' community, so he joined the police department. PFC Sefiane utilizes his diverse upbringing to enhance service to the many cultural communities that make up our wonderful county.

On Saturday, April 22nd, the FCCPAAA held its annual awards ceremony to honor men and women who work within or serve the Fairfax County Police Department. Congratulations to our 2017 award recipients! This week through Saturday, we will be featuring each awardee.

2016 Detective of the Year: Detective Anthony Taormina, Organized Crime and Narcotics Division, Criminal Investigations Bureau (no photo)

Detective Taormina is relentless in his quest to arrest drug dealers and get drugs off the streets of Fairfax County. He is a top producer on the team and has become the resident expert on internet drug investigations. He routinely mentors other detectives on the team.

38th Annual Mid-Atlantic Police Motorcycle Rodeo

On Wednesday, August 17, the 38th Annual Mid-Atlantic Police Motorcycle Rider’s Committee, Inc. and the Mid-Atlantic Region Make-A-Wish Foundation will kick off the 2016 Motor Rodeo Competition. The rodeo is hosted at the Dulles Expo Center located at 4320 Chantilly Shopping Center, in Chantilly. You will see officers from the Fairfax County Police Motor Squad participate with motorcycle officers from around the country and Canada as they display their skills and abilities in the oldest, longest running police motorcycle safety competition in the nation. During the rodeo, the competitors support their local charity to help raise awareness and funds to support the regions families who are going through a difficult time. The event is free and open to the public and will go on rain or shine.
