Trudy Moses-Munford has spent her life serving others—with grace, wisdom, and an unwavering commitment to education. As a two-term member of the Anniston City Board of Education, she has stood firm in her belief that every child deserves a chance to succeed.

When she was first elected in 2016, Anniston schools were in crisis:

-A $2 million budget deficit

-Failing test scores and low morale

-Outdated buses and neglected facilities

-A culture that made it hard for students and teachers to thrive

Through steady leadership and a love for her community, Trudy helped lead the district to a true turnaround:

-A $14 million surplus

-Test scores rising from 65% to 78%

-Absenteeism cut in half

--Safer schools, better transportation, and stronger leadership

A respectful, professional culture where students come first

“This progress wasn’t easy, but it was necessary,” she says. “I stood firm because our children deserve better.”

Born and raised in Anniston, educated at Florida A&M and Canisius College, and shaped by her years as a counselor and civil rights advocate, Trudy Moses-Munford brings more than experience—she brings heart, integrity, and results.

Now, she’s running for re-election in Ward 2 to keep our schools moving forward.
