The budget now includes a line item for $297,565 for an in-house attorney office.
$50,000 for community grants.
$75,000 for ongoing renovations.
Extra $20,000 for tree care and maintenance.
Many thousands for Saturday Sounds, holiday events, parade, festivals, including $80,00 for Independence Day.

Only eight (8) citizens were in attendance and only two (2) made public comments.

A lack of participation by residents affects their tax bills.
The new millage rate was set.

The next meeting will back at the newly renovated City Commission Chamber Hall.
This was a planned renovation and not due to any damage or other issues.

Be there to voice your opinion to the people who make the decisions. Spouting off online without calling, writing, or meeting with the Commission members or attending in person to speak is not participating in the budget process. City Hall 407-703-1700

Budget meeting this coming week, departments were asked for wish lists by the mayor three months ago.
The needs list is much less.
The solid waste department needs three trucks and a driver.
They wish for a safety officer and specialist.

The trucks are vital and another driver is a must with the increase in houses, businesses, and apartments and city sprawl.

The current inventory cannot cover the entire area and does not allow for truck maintenance downtime.

If not, we will be knee deep in trash and recycling and overtime will increase.

A safety officer is as crucial in Public Works with all the equipment and moving parts as it was for the fire department. Maybe as a progressive employment position, split time between the solid waste, maintenance, and streets and drains divisions then reduce the number of divisions served over fiscal years.

Just 22 %, twenty-two percent, of County registered voters decided to participate in the election.
There were several very important seats and only 22 % is atrocious.
It is the responsibility of the electorate to mark their choices to keep our government at all levels properly functioning and to determine the quality of our representatives.
This is pitiful.
