How's your summer reading list holding up? We just got two new boxes of children's books today and many of them are freshly stamped and out for you to enjoy. Come get some so we'll have room to display more!

Thanks to a very generous donation, Adventures on Ashbury has a full shelf of children's books once again! They're usually the first thing to go, so if you see something here you want then you should hurry over.

When we put up Adventures on Ashbury, I didn't think it would last a week. I've had enough "This is why we can't have nice things" moments that I fully expected to find it knocked over or smashed every time I looked outside. And, sure enough, it had only been up a few days when I had to go out and talk to some middle school boys who "couldn't figure out" the door and were trying to rip it off.

But fast forward a year, and today I was restocking the library and left the door open while I went in to get something. I hadn't been gone two minutes but when I came back a young man I didn't know had stopped on his bike to close the door and keep the books dry on a rainy day.

So, here's the deal: You guys keep taking care of Adventures on Ashbury and I'll keep making sure it's organized, tidy and full of great books for you and your kids. And maybe in the process we'll all find cause to have a little more faith in each other.

It's the last day of school in Appleton and, if traffic at the library has been any indication, it's a good day to pick out some summer reading. Adventures on Ashbury is freshly restocked and ready!

It's Adventures on Ashbury's first anniversary today, but we're giving the gift to you: Puzzles! Director of Security Gus was out this afternoon restocking the library and adding puzzles for you and your family to enjoy.

As an added bonus, the first 1000 visitors can take home a free dandelion!
