Many law enforcement agencies hire outside vendors to provide required legal training for their deputies. In York County, the Commonwealths Attorneys Office provides this training at no cost six times a year. Today was one of those sessions. Our attorneys prepared and presented on various topics including DUI Investigations, Dealing with Child Victims, and Search and Seizure. The evaluations were across the board positive.

Krystyn and her team are in Norfolk completing mandatory annual legal training. Topics include Ethics, Trauma and Victims, Motions Litogation, Electronic Evidence, and Effective Cross Examination.

I am excited to gain the training necessary to bring a Behavioral Health Docket to the Historic Triangle. Our communities will benefit from an alternate way to handle crimes associated with mental health struggles.

We had a great crowd at todays rally to support Diggs for Senate with an appearance by Governor Youngkin. I got to meet the Governor and sign his bus. Vote on November 7!!!

VPRJ celebrated four female inmates graduation from the WAITT program which is a 12 week intensive therapy focusing on substance abuse and mental health. Lt Gov Winsome Sears delivered a stirring keynote address.
Krystyn fully supports rehabilitation programs and believes that they better prepare graduates to re enter society as healthy and productive members.

In an effort to learn more about mental and behavioral health, Krystyn toured Eastern State Hospital and attended a round table discussion about the interface between mental health concerns and the criminal justice system. There’s more to learn and do, but todays experience was a great start.
