Adira launches $250k-plus grant program on caregiving, mental health and resource sharing

Adira Foundation launched its second round of competitive funding- the Fall 2020 Pervasive Needs Grants. The Fall 2020 Pervasive Needs Grants will award at least $250,000 around three priorities: improving caregiver mental health, easing the coordination of care, and sharing the resources within communities. Today is National HIV/AIDS and Aging Awareness Day - an important issue that GIA has been deeply involved in. Half of all people living with HIV in the US are 50 or older and that number is growing. This longevity success story also means that this is a new aging issue that needs the attention of philanthropy. Get ideas in our funding guide and hear from older people living with HIV about the challenges they face in videos posted on our website.

Did you know that almost half of all the people living with HIV in the US are 50 or older? Aging with HIV is a still fairly new phenomenon and not always an easy one. As John Feather discusses in "From Epidemic to Longevity: The Evolving Story of Aging with HIV" -- his new piece for American Society on Aging
-- both HIV and aging care providers are expert and compassionate but not at all used to working together. As the
International AIDS Conference #AIDS2020Virtual unfolds, it's a good time to consider how we can lift up and support this brave and resilient group of older people! https://bit.ly/3fh04qr
