Google wants to enable multi-factor authentication by default

Google strives to push all its users to start using #twofactorauthentication (2FA), which can block attackers from taking control of their accounts using compromised credentials or guessing their passwords.

"Soon we'll start automatically enrolling users in 2SV if their accounts are appropriately configured," as Mark Risher, Google's Director of Product Management, Identity, and User Security, revealed today.

Happy 19 Year Anniversary to Kevin Boyle! Kevin started as a web developer working on the Missile Defense Agency contract. He now is Project Manager for TSACIS.

"I have felt supported and believed in, both by my direct managers as well as the corporate structure itself. When the MDA contract expired, OnPoint did not want to lose its team members, so it worked actively to place them on other contracts. Even though there were no automatic fits for me, they showed their belief in me by giving me the opportunity to take on the role of an Enterprise Architect. The feeling of being believed in, with the opportunities that ensued from that belief, would have to be my favorite part of the company." -Kevin

Kevin is the stereotypical family man, but as his youngest has just gone away to Virginia Tech this year, his wife Carol and him are starting a new chapter in their lives. Now, instead of coaching various youth sports teams and serving as a chauffeur, Kevin spends more time walking his dogs and going hiking. Kevin wishes to add a new hobby when the pandemic final ends. He jokingly thinks he is finally old enough to appreciate bowling or golf. 🙂

Thanks for all you do for us, Kevin. We appreciate your hard work and everything you do for the OnPoint family!

“The issue has taken on greater urgency during the Covid-19 pandemic when technology shortcomings have caused glitches and security risks as many federal operations shifted to remote work,” said Sen. Maggie Hassan (D., N.H.). This messaging presents an incentive for agencies to invest in the people, processes, and technology to modernize/transform the agency mission. https://bit.ly/3eIodaF

OnPoint's employees Dean Allred and David Hefter recently attended the United States Air Force's #AFDWIndustryWeek. This allowed industries to know the needs of what #government was. This year, the event was April 13th -16th with representatives from AFDW/PK and the contracting squadrons from the 11th Wing at JBAB and the 316th Wing at JBA. The event organizers focused on three main objectives: communication, transparency, and predictability. “That translates to improved communication between industry and the #AirForce, increased transparency as it pertains to what our requirements are, and improving the predictability of requirements by providing the industry with projected requirements,” said SMSgt Edward Williams, deputy chief, Operations Support Division, AFDW Contracting Directorate.

Happy 10-Year Anniversary to Samara Schulman! As Director of Business Operations, Samara oversees accounting, finance, contracts, IT, and recruiting…but gets to dabble a little in everything!

Samara enjoys working at OnPoint because she feels she has the opportunity to help the Government with multiple missions and enjoys building relationships with teammates and potential partners. On a personal level, I get to say that my co-workers are my friends. We work great together, challenge each other, and help take each other (and OnPoint!) to the next level.

Samara's #1 hobby is her family! Her three kids (Josh is 5yo, Jordan is 3yo, and Eliana is 1yo) and her husband keeps her on her toes! With COVID, it's been a 24/7 hobby! Samara and Dan do a LOT of playing. Dan and her are constantly amazed at how TV shows like “Paw Patrol”, “Elena of Avalor”, and “Mickey Mouse Clubhouse” can really draw you in! 😉

Samara's other big hobby is the Peloton. If that bike weren’t stationary, she thinks she would’ve pedaled her way to California and back by now…a few times now!

Thanks for all the hard work you have done for us. We are grateful to have you a part of our team! #10years #anniversary #employeeengagement #leadershipbyexample #onpoint
