Hi! Just sent a message re: e-scooters. Will you all jump in and address the drivers who are actively trying to take them off the streets and kill the program?? NextDoor (North Arlington, at least) is blowing up with short-sided complaints and actively trying to take them away from us. I'm curious how the other villages feel. Thanks! ~Dee
As a professional dog walker, I walk in and around the Village at Shirlington for an extensive period of time every day. I’ve identified four highly dangerous crosswalks in and around The Village at Shirlington in South Arlington. This area is crucial to accessing and connecting the Washington and Old Dominion Bike Trail, Four Mile RunTrail, Jennie Dean Park, Shirlington Dog Park, The Village at Shirlington and the Nauck Community. At each marked point, there are various and visible pedestrian crossing signs. Nonetheless, motorists continue to speed, dangerously encroach on pedestrians in these crosswalks, physically block crosswalks, and do not yield the right of way to the pedestrians and cyclists as Virginia Law requires.
