DoD 60th Anniversary of the Korean War Commemoration Committee
The DoD 60th Anniversary of the Korean War Commemoration Committee is a committee founded to honor and pay respect to individuals who served in the Korean War.
The Department of Defense 60th Anniversary of the Korean War Commemoration Committee, authorized in the 2011 Defense Authorization Bill, is dedicated to thanking and honoring all the Veterans of the Korean War, their families and especially those who lost loved ones in that war.
Over the next three years, the Committee will honor the service and sacrifice of Korean War Veterans, commemorate the key events of the war, and educate Americans of all ages about the historical significance of the Korean War.
Mission: To HONOR the service and sacrifice of Korean War Veterans; to COMMEMORATE the key events of the war; and to EDUCATE the general public of the Korean War.
84,478 U.S. troops participate in the defense of the Pusan Perimeter, including the U.S. Army's 1st Cavalry Division, 2nd, 24th, and 25th Infantry Divisions, and the 1st Provisional Marine Brigade.
The Korean War Commemoration Committee will participate at the Northern Rhode Island Chapter #258 in certificates and medals presentation, Chepachet, RI on September 11, 2013.
Today the Korean War Commemoration Committee will participate in the 40th ID Korean War Veterans' Reunion in California. The reunion began on August 27 and will continue through the 31st with various events in support of Korean War Veterans.
Representatives from the Committee will honor over 150 Korean War Veterans with Certificates of Appreciations signed by the Secretary of Defense.

The Department of Defense 60th Anniversary of the Korean War Commemoration Committee seeks to have open communication between fellow Korean War veterans, family members, and individuals who seek to thank Veterans for their service during the Korean War.
We seek to hear Veterans and family member’s experiences throughout the War. The Committee also would like to extend invitations to upcoming events we are creating and wish to invite any individuals interested in attending.

This is amazing. I was part of the 50th AKWC Staff in Yongsan back in 2000. That was when I was still on AD; Admin NCO @ the Joint Visitor's Bureau (JVB). I was just thinking when the next commrmoration celebration would be, Googled & found this page. 🙂 It would be nice to be a part of the next one, maybe 70 or even better, the 75th anniversary. Looks like the whole dynamic has changed quite a bit though. 🙂
