Navy League of the United States

Navy League of the United States The Navy League of the United States is a nonprofit civilian, educational and advocacy organization that supports America’s sea services. The Navy League of the United States (NLUS) was founded in 1902 with the encouragement of President Theodore Roosevelt.

The Navy League has provided a powerful voice for a stronger sea service to Congress and to the American people. The Navy League has grown into the foremost citizens' organization to serve, support, and stand with all the sea services – U.S. Navy, U.S. Marine Corps, U.S. Coast Guard and U.S.-flag Merchant Marine. The Navy League is comprised of 50,000 civilians in more than 250 councils around the world working to support sea service members and their families. We do this through a variety of education programs that remind our fellow citizens that the United States is a maritime nation whose national economic and security interests are inextricably tied to the freedom of the seas. The Navy League has three missions: to enhance the morale of active duty personnel and their families; to inform Congress and the American public on the importance of strong sea services; and to support youth through programs such as the Naval Sea Cadet Corps, Junior ROTC and Young Marines that expose young people to the values of our sea services. Over the years, the Navy League has compiled an impressive record of accomplishment. Today the Navy League is widely respected by citizens, community and industrial leaders, and public officials. Navy League programs are welcomed in communities throughout the nation, and members are recognized for their integrity and patriotism. "It seems to me that all good Americans interested in the growth of their country and sensitive to its honor, should give hearty support to the policies which the Navy League is founded to further. For the building and maintaining in proper shape of the American Navy, we must rely on nothing but the broad and farsighted patriotism of our people as a whole." (Teddy Roosevelt)

Mission: • To foster and maintain interest in a strong Navy, Marine Corps, Coast Guard and Merchant Marine as integral parts of a sound national defense and vital to the freedom of the United States. • To serve as a means of educating and informing the American people with regard to the role of sea power in the nuclear age and the problems involved in maintaining strong defenses in that age. • To improve the understanding and appreciation of those who wear the uniforms of our armed forces and to better the conditions under which they live and serve. • To provide support and recognition for the Reserve forces in our communities in order that we may continue to have a capable and responsive Reserve. • To educate and train our youth in the customs and traditions of the Navy, the Marine Corps, the Coast Guard and the Merchant Marine through the means of an active and vigorous Naval Sea Cadet Corps. Statement of Policy We of the Navy League of the United States stand for a strong America - a nation morally, economically, and internally strong. We believe that the security of our nation and of the people of the world demands a well-balanced, integrated, mobile American defense team, of which a strong Navy, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, and Merchant Marine are indispensable parts. We support all Armed Services to the end that each may make its appropriate contribution to the national security. We know that in a free nation an informed public is indispensable to national security and, therefore, we will strive to keep the nation alert to the dangers which threaten - both from without and within. We favor appropriations for each of the Armed Services, adequate for national security, economically administered. We oppose any usurpation of the Congress's constitutional authority over the Armed Services. We urge that our country maintain world leadership in scientific research and development. We support industrial preparedness, planning, production. We support efforts of our government to achieve worldwide peace through international cooperation. We advocate a foreign policy which will avoid wars - if possible; if not, win them!

It is also a wonderful organization to make lifelong friendships. It is extra special to visit the pages of members one met at national meetings and conventions. 🙋‍♂️
Help save our historical veteran statues. ANTIFA and BLM have teamed up to destroy and/or remove all confederate veteran statues in the United States. They have begun a campaign of hate against U.S. Civil War history (Confederacy), our historical statues, the Christian religion, and our nationwide police forces. I believe ALL military and veterans will be next! As a Vietnam veteran, I believe history should be saved - not destroyed. Please sign the petition and forward it to all military, veterans, friends and family for them to sign. Dr. Russ Steuber
Are you leaving active military service via separation or retirement and wishing you... - knew what you wanted to do with the rest of your life? - could communicate better with other people? - had an idea of what life "on the other side" was really going to be like? - understood the financial pieces of the transition puzzle? We cover these and more at Changing Focus: Moving From We to Me, a FREE veteran transition program. It's a three-day (Thursday evening - Sunday morning) live event designed for service members and their spouses who are in the 24-month window of moving from active duty to the civilian sector. We know that many veterans need to re-set their transitions, so we welcome veterans from any era. Pre-registration is required. There is no charge to attend, however we don’t pay for lodging or transportation. Join us in San Diego, CA - February 20-23, 2020 https://leadertransitioninstitute.org/ChangingFocus-SanDiegoFeb20
As an odontologist specializing in bad breath with nearly 40 years in practice, I have a pretty good idea what causes it and how best to eliminate bad breath. I invented, patented and sell an anti-bad breath toothbrush through my Veteran owned company, the neutralizerPLUS+ toothbrush that was also taped for ABC’s Shark Tank. I sell my anti-bad breath toothbrush nationally with profits going to several Veteran assistance programs, one being the Warrior Foundation that assists wounded veterans transition from a military lifestyle to a civilian lifestyle. Even though bad breath is socially offensive, it is also one of the first signs of infection. Infections increase white blood cell counts, create fatigue and can slowly cause vital organ failures related to the heart, the lungs, liver and kidney. That said, pay attention to your bad breath by neutralizing it.
