Mark Claburn Named Superintendent of the Year by North Texas Golf Course Superintendents Association

Congratulations to Tierra Verde Golf Club Superintendent Mark Claburn, who was named the winner of the A.C. and Garry Bearden Superintendent of the Year Award by the North Texas Golf Course Superintendents Association (NTGCSA). Our featured is Meadowbrook Park! This 54-acre park is rich in history as Arlington's first city park, which opened in 1924. Besides a half-mile hike and bike trail, pavilion, and basketball court, the park also features a sculpture garden with unique art pieces, as well as a 9-hole golf course that opened in 1924 as Arlington's first municipal golf course. There's tons of fun for the whole family here, less than a mile from Downtown Arlington!

City Celebrates Groundbreaking for Voter-Approved Active Adult Center in West Arlington

Did you catch yesterday's exciting groundbreaking ceremony for Arlington Parks and Recreation's new Active Adult Center? Set to open in winter 2024, this facility will offer a variety of programs and amenities for adults ages 50 and older.

“This is the facility that our active adult population needs and deserves and we are excited to bring it to them,” Parks and Recreation Director James Orloski said.

Mr. Elf's final stop on the tour is Dottie Lynn Recreation Center! A gymnasium, weight room, and multi-purpose studio are great places for Dottie's visitors to enjoy a diverse selection of classes for all ages, ranging from arts and crafts to fitness and sports. The center is open for reservations during and after business hours for private parties, sporting events, meetings, banquets, and more. Step outside to enjoy Woodland West Park, including the swimming pool and tennis courts!
