"There is no hiding from Covid-19. This virus has no borders and travels at will, menacing people and businesses in every sector of society. The pandemic threatens agriculture and with it our food security, as farmers work to produce the food on our tables. Our farmers, producers and those making their living off the land are working relentlessly for all of us, and we thank them for their leadership and sacrifice."

Sweet Corn Fiesta

Creative solutions to #COVID19 challenges coming out of Florida!

#Stillfarming Florida Department of Agriculture & Consumer Services

Like any farmer knows, you can’t predict the weather. To say that we were overwhelmed with your support is an understatement. We distributed over 1,000 crates of corn in such a short amount of time that we had to call in another truck!! While that truck was on its way, the weather turned dangerous quickly. Working alongside and with direction from The PBSO - Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office we made the decision to close the Fiesta early to ensure everyone’s safety.

We want to apologize for anyone who was turned away and say THANK YOU to every person who came out to support EAA Farmers and Western Palm Beach County Farm Bureau. Our volunteers are the hardest working and most dedicated advocates of agriculture and we’re so grateful for the support from our community.

Thank you to Florida Crystals®, Tommy Holt Jr., Wedgworth's Inc., Everglades Equipment Group, Twin H Farms, R.C. Hatton Farms and everyone else who donated their time, talent, and treasures for The Sweet Corn Fiesta.

*We will be contacting individuals privately to resolve any additional confusion*

Can't anybody come up with a way to do better than wasting tons of food, because the market isn't normal for the time being?
Recent supported eradication methods of wildlife to protect agricultural animals is both indiscriminate and fails miserably to protect resources. As a lover of ALL animals, and protector of humane methods for both slaughter of food source animals as well as the protection of wildlife as we continue to encroach on their territories, I am saddened to consider that farmers and ranchers would support poisoning of predators which poses unfair risk to all animals. As a farmer in my past and animal owner (both livestock and domestic pets), I assure you there are better ways that do not impact the environment unnecessarily. PLEASE consider the responsibility to all. PLEASE do your homework (as I have) about the repercussions to wildlife in general when a specific species is targeted. PLEASE come up with a better way. We are supposed to protect our earth. We get one chance. I support farming and agriculture. Don't be ignorant of the outcome. It's not JUST your bottom line, your lifestyle - it's our earth. Thanks.

As in was the case last year applicants are applying for two two-day workshops a year apart and participants will receive a $500 travel stipend for each workshop.
