DC Bangla School Bangla School is to keep the illustrious culture and language of Bangla alive in the new generation Metro Washington Bangla School, A greate sucessful running project of Bangladesh Center for Community Development, Inc (BCCDI).

In Bangla school our children not only learn writing and conversational Bangla. They also learn Arabic, Music - instrumental and vocal, Tabla and Classic Dance

Mission: Our goal in Bangla School is to keep the illustrious culture and language of Bangla alive in the new generation. We have classes in Bangla, Arabic, vocal music,dance and Tabla. Currently we have approximately 40 enrolled students. Bangla School holds several events and celebrations each year-including Pitha Uthshob, Ekushe February, Shadhinota Dibosh, Pohela Boishakh, Upohar, Bonbhojon (Annual Picnic), Bijoy Dibosh, etc. Bangla School is an unforgettable experience that brings Bangladesh’s rich culture into the spirit s of our young generation.

General information

In 1991, a group of dedicated young people established Bangla School with a slogan "Esho Amra Bangla Shikhi". The school started with seven students and two dedicated teachers in a basement. In 1995, the school came under an organization named Bangladesh Center for Cultural Exchange Inc. In January 1996, the organization was registered as a non-profit corporation. In November 1997, the organization was granted tax exempt status under IRS code section 501-C (3). Any donation to the organization is tax deductible. In 2000, the organization was renamed as Bangladesh Center for Community Development Inc. (BCCDI). BCCDI is one of the listed and respected community groups in the multicultural department of Arlington county, Virginia.
