In 1998, Leadership Center for Excellence, formerly Leadership Arlington, was founded as an independent nonprofit. Leadership Center for Excellence’s vision is a prepared, inspired and inclusive leadership who together embrace responsibility for the common good. Leadership Center for Excellence fosters a sense of community that motivates participants to become involved in the community's future. Through leadership training, the organization creates an infrastructure that will insure an ongoing source of trained leaders in our community by focusing on the application of leadership skills in a unique environment of experiential learning. With an active membership of 1,600 key leaders representing over 600 organizations throughout the region, Leadership Center for Excellence connects leaders from the private, public and nonprofit sectors and encourage philanthropy and civic engagement in our communities. The organization’s events and programs promote skill-building, connect leaders and encourage philanthropy and civic engagement in our communities.
