Programs Criminal Justice Program Support The need for law and order, as well as justice and respect for human rights is paramount in a world of growing transnational threats including terrorism, crime, and violent internal conflict. The US Department of State, Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (DOS-INL) is mandated to furnish assistance to countries and international organizations by strengthening foreign police and criminal justice systems with a wide array of support. These challenges include creating criminal justice structures where none previously existed, enhancing capabilities in countries or regions emerging from conflict or restructuring existing criminal justice systems consistent with international democracies and rule of law. These countries include; Afghanistan, Haiti, Iraq, Kosovo, Lebanon, Liberia, Sudan and the West Bank. Recruitment is currently underway for career opportunities in the following position categories: Police Advisor, Corrections Advisor, Justice Advisor and specialists in numerous categories including Counter Terrorism, Forensics, Border Enforcement (Immigration, Customs and Security), Narcotics Interdiction and much more. Border Management Task Force The Border Management Task Force (BMTF) Advisor Program provides advice, training and leadership to Border Crossing Point (BCP) authorities on the topics of management, customs operations, customs enforcement / compliance procedures, customs revenue generation and immigration inspection activities. This training activity involves the Afghan Customs Department (ACD), the Afghan Customs Police (ACP) and the Afghan Border Police (ABP). Advisors are considered as “Key Personnel, Government Civilian” in connection with “Non-Combatant Evacuation Orders” at the civil service grade indicated on their Letter of Authorization (generally GS-13 equivalent). Advisors will be tasked to various locations in Afghanistan based on the needs of the position Language Analysts, Linguists, and Translators FedSys is currently seeking experienced and effective linguists to use their experience and skills to provide monitoring, translation, transcription and interpretation services to the US Government in a wide variety of locations and capacities. Required skills include the ability to read, write and comprehend target language and English with native or near native proficiency. Languages of immediate interest include: Mandarin Chinese, Cantonese Chinese, Fuzhou Chinese, Taiwanese, Vietnamese, Korean, Lao, Khmer, Tagalog, Ibu/Igbo, Yoruba , Ghanaian (Twi), Jamaican Patois, Hatian Creole, West African Tribal Languages, Hebrew, Arabic, Armenian, Albanian, Persian Farsi, Urdu-Punjabi, Urdu-Pashto, Polish, Russian, Serbo-Croatian, Spanish, and Portuguese.
