Everyone struggles at some point in their lives. But the lessons we learn will help us prepare for future challenges.

Thankful for the challenges in life that make me stronger.

Depending on the challenge (trial or tribulation), while going through it, it can simply suck. Pain hurts. However, it’s been through those very experiences that many of us will build our very character, and fine-tune our perspective. Challenges have been the greatest teacher & mentor that I never asked for.

Have a fantastic Wednesday, folks. Remember gratitude — It’s a powerful tool… a mindset. It doesn’t shut off/on, or become less applicable when wearing a uniform. It’s a strategic imperative for all of us, especially those entrusted to lead.

Alright teammates — here they are: the updated 2022 PT test components and score charts.

Just like many of the changes we are making, this was an evolution based on 9,000 data points collected from assessing roughly 2,000 Airmen across 23 installations.

From there, we decided to implement the following strength and cardio options:

Cardio
✅Traditional 1.5-mile Run
✅ High Aerobic Multi-shuttle Run

(Yes, we removed the walk option until we are able to standardize the V02 measurement equipment across every installation. We will continue working the logistics and evolution in the meantime. The 2km walk will still remain a component for people on a profile.)

Strength
✅Traditional Push-Ups
✅Hand-Release Push-Ups

Sit-Ups
✅ Traditional Sit-Ups
✅ Cross-Leg Reverse Crunch
✅ Plank

(And yes, the waist measurement is no longer part of the fitness assessment…the Air Force Surgeon General owns that requirement, and will be providing guidance on the program in the coming months)

Read more on the new components here:

This is fine. Everything’s fine.

We have lots to get after this week. Have a great start to your week — be purposeful, deliberate, make every moment count!

Great reminder!

How do we fix this?

Listen more. Talk less. Get to know those you work with. Hold high standards. Lead by example. Look out for each other. Care.

Have a fantastic Monday, folks! Start it off strong…be deliberate, purposeful, and be the leader you know we need.

Air Force Integrated Resilience Directorate

The U.S. Air Force is known for its development of high-end technology and sophisticated machinery, but it’s the people, the Airmen, who are responsible for its success as the world’s preeminent air power. Recognizing people as its most valuable resource, Air Force leadership created the Integrated Resilience Directorate in 2017 to provide Airmen and their families the tools they need to create a culture of dignity and respect across the Total Force and the communities in which they live.

The Air Force Integrated Resilience Directorate recently unveiled a new website featuring leadership tools for crisis prevention, intervention and postvention. Leaders at all levels, from the non-commissioned officer to the Major Command commander, will find value in the checklists, fact sheets and communication tools compiled in this single-point resource. These tools are designed to strengthen Airman culture.

“Of all the things we do as leaders, the largest impact that we have on our Airmen is to provide inspirational and courageous leadership,” said Air Force Chief of Staff Gen. David L. Goldfein.
