Arlington’s annual Paint, Build, Create event will take place virtually on Sat., Jan. 16! Participants of all ages can experience ten different activity videos focused on Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math. Most activities use recycled or common household items so you can Learn, Grow, and Play in the comfort of your own home. Join us starting at 10 a.m. on 1/16 here on Facebook to get in on the fun. Come by Bluemont Junction Trail for the “The Art of Snowflakes” exhibit now through Jan. 25. View three 8-foot snowflake murals installed along mile 8 of the trail for a very Insta-worthy photo op.
Inspired by art and life, the installations invite visitors to take a selfie and share your photos with us with the hashtag #artofsnowflakes and tag @arlparksrec or @arlcommunityarts. Park at the Bluemont Park lot (601 N Manchester St.) and follow the directional signage.

On Fri., Dec. 18, the Super Squad, with the help of their Snowball Squads left 12 obstacle courses at the following parks: Fairlington Community Center, Virginia Highlands, High View, Long Bridge, TJ Community Center, Tyrol Hill, Westover, Lower Bluemont, Barcroft, Lubber Run, Mosaic, Madison Manor. every year at the end of camp, our campers get to spend their hard earned camp dollars at the art camp auction. the items they’re bidding on were some of things that staff made.
Some more unclaimed pieces from Spring Ceramic classes at Lee. These pieces were made at Lee Art Center this past spring in the Get Messy Play with Clay or the Handbuilding for Kids or the Handbuilding for Families classes. This work will be at TJ to be claimed- please have a look and see if you or your child recognizes any of this work and you can go by and collect it. 🙂🌈
Pieces from the spring 2019 get messy play with clay class and the kids hand building class at Lee. If your child recognizes any of these as their work, you can pick up at TJ art studios at TJ community center on S Second St.
Final firing of the work from our spring Handbbuilding for Families and Get Messy Play with Clay classes. Lots of fun was had and joyful memories were made❤️🌈 If you recognize any of these pieces as yours or your child’s- please go to the art studio at TJ and pick them up. You might want to bring a box and or packing materials to make sure everything arrives safely home 🙂!
