Do you go to the County Fair every year? Why not join the board. They are hosting a meet & greet tonight at 6:30 at Thomas Jefferson.

Did you know that the Arlington County Fair is 100% volunteer-driven? We are actively recruiting new board members and we invite all members of the community to our next board meeting tomorrow, January 10th, at 6:30pm at the Thomas Jefferson Community Center to meet current members of the board of directors and ask questions about how you can get involved. Notes
March 31, 2017

Attendance: Edd Nolen, Lisa Fikes, Richard Garrison, Mileva Hartman, Phil Traina, Wilfred Braveboy, Harro Wulf, Kim Durand, Joe Lott, Scott Brannon, Jean Terrill

Volunteer Arlington
Lisa Fikes encouraged us to all create a profile on Volunteer Arlington to help recruit for volunteers and members. She is available to assist if needed.

On July 25th there is a Volunteer Celebration with Impact Awards (see below).

Membership
Phil Traina passed around a proposal to invigorate ISCC membership. He suggests that each of us contribute to our growth. He intends to hold several training sessions on the following subjects:
a. Increasing membership roles for those who are interested;
b. Values of networking to produce new ideas for sustained growth;
c. Become aware of how new members contribute benefits to everyone; and
d. Create specific committees for action with support from ISCC.
We should have the application on the website (Kim to do).

Public Relations
We would like to have more visibility, to make sure that others know about this organization. Ideas:
• Send something to the people on the County’s lists
• Connect with the people you know in an organization
• Submit people for awards to help with publicity
• Should we consider joining the Civic Federation?

Treasurer Report
Joe is sending notes to participants who have not paid.
Joe will also work to raise money for ads in the luncheon program.

Need your Vitamin C? Try a Honeybell today!

What is a Honeybell orange?
"Honeybell Oranges (or Honeybell Tangelos) are easy to peel, wonderfully sweet, and remarkably juicy. A hybrid of the Duncan Grapefruit and Dancy Tangerine, a Honeybell Orange has bright, fiery peel, deep orange meat, and a luscious sweet flavor."
Only in January, too.
