It is hard to believe that it had already been over a year since I took office, I have loved every minute of being your Constable! We have made many changes in that time. The timely service of all court process will always be our primary focus. We service one of the busiest courts in Tarrant County and will always strive for excellence in that roll.
As promised in the campaign, we have increased truancy enforcement by actively looking for students in the A.M. hrs who are walking off the campus. Last year I stopped over 170 students, and returned them to school and took further action if required. We attempt to serve all truancy warrants that come to our office which will improve compliance to the law.
We work closely with our friends and partners at Arlington P.D. We work together on a program with N. Davis Church of Christ where they open there doors several days a week allowing students to play basketball or take advantage of free tutoring. We have assisted them on emergency calls such as a residential burglary in progress, a car jacking and kidnapping that had virtually every officer working the call. A bank robbery suspect that fled on foot was captured thanks to a quick response by A.P.D. officers and Pct.2 Constables who quickly established a perimeter and contained the suspect. A shooting suspect who fled the scene in a vehicle was intercepted by Constables and captured.
Chief Will Johnson runs one of the best Departments in the state, we are proud to work with them as partners in keeping our city safe as possible!
I hope to serve as your Constable for many years to come.

A 14yr old kid was shot and killed in Dallas yesterday! He was shot by the homeowner who's backdoor he was kicking in! This happened at 11am, if the young man was in school, WHERE HE SHOULD HAVE BEEN, this wouldn't have happened. This is why I want a zero tolerance truancy enforcement program as your Constable!

04/10/2012

Very proud to ad the personal endorsements of: Bart and Lucy Thompson, James Adams and Charles Fennicum! Thank you all!

03/22/2012

I just received the endorsement of the Arlington Board of Realtors! Another big endorsement! Thank you to the ABOR committee!

Tarrant County Constable #2

Thursday night, the Arlington Republican Club hosted a candidate forum for five contested area offices. Several unopposed candidates also spoke. Over 300 people were in attendance including more than 50 candidates and current office holders. Here in order of appearance are the candidates together with a brief summary of their responses to written questions from the audience:

County Constable, Precinct #2
• Robert J. McGinty http://www.tarrantcounty.com/eConstable2/site/default.asp (incumbent)
• David Woodruff http://electdavidwoodruff.com/

Both candidates cited Tarrant County’s serious and growing truancy problem. They also emphasized the importance of leading from the top within their office.

Robert McGinty, the current Precinct 2 Constable, talked about his 28 years experience in law enforcement and his commitment to truancy enforcement but offered no new solutions.

David Woodruff began his career in law enforcement 1993. He helped write HB 3610 Truancy Legislation, and stresses the need for a “zero tolerance” truancy program. He pointed out that a 1% reduction in truancy would bring an additional three million dollars in state funding.
