Happy #UncleSamDay! The day commemorates the man behind the iconic nickname for the United States government, who was born on September 13, 1766. During World War I, this famous portrait of Uncle Sam was used as a recruiting poster with the words “I Want You”. Today, our country is protected by an all-volunteer military, though it is still a requirement for all men to be registered with the Selective Service. We want YOU to register. Do it in as little as 1 minute at sss.gov.
