Commander in Chief's Guard

Commander in Chief's Guard Welcome to the Official Facebook Fan page of A Company, 4th Battalion, 3d U.S. Infantry Regiment, traditionally known as "The Old Guard." Alpha Company is stationed and billeted on Fort Myer, in the city limits of the Arlington, Virginia.
(2)

It is historically known as the Commander-in-Chief’s (CinC) Guard and is patterned after General George Washington’s personal guard of that day. It conducts tactical training year round to sustain proficiency in its Rifle Company's tasks that support the 3d U.S. Infantry Regiment's (The Old Guard) mission to defend the Nation Capital Region. Along with its standard Rifle Company mission requirements, this unit also maintains ceremonial and tactical proficiency in the weaponry and tactics of the 18th century. This CinC Guard function is performed in many Department of Defense and Department of the Army ceremonies year round. In addition to their CinC Guard functions, Alpha Company also conducts memorial affairs in Arlington National Cemetery.

June 3, 2020 IMPORTANT 2020 REUNION UPDATE Friends, Do you know what day it is? Happy Birthday to The Old Guard! Today is the 236th birthday of our regiment, America’s oldest active-duty infantry unit in the Army. I want to use this important occasion to send you a final reminder to register for the 23rd Annual TOGA Reunion. As you know, the Board has determined that we must have a minimum of 100 attendees registered and paid by midnight June 5th in order to proceed. We’re making good progress but we’re not there yet. The Board wants to assure you that full refunds will be made if the Reunion is cancelled. Click here now to register https://www.oldguard.org/2020-toga-reunion/ . You can also reserve your room at the Sheraton Pentagon City when you register for the Reunion. We’re still working on a backup plan if the Army museum can’t take us. We talked to the Spy Museum and think it will be a great alternative. More to come on that. Are you wearing your TOGA gear to celebrate our birthday? Do you need gear? We have it. Click here and our Quartermaster will help you out – https://www.oldguard.org/shop/. Contact us at [email protected] if you have questions. Hats off to the Old Guard! Flip Godfrey President TOGA
